how exactly would you shine a laser into a cockpit, who's windows are small, and one that is traveling at a fairly high rate of speed? and if you aim from the ground and the plane is above you, how do you get the laser in the window? doesn't make sense.

update: i think I found out what the deal is. there is something soldered to the motherboard (some sort of diode) directly underneath where the processor is seated. this thing for whatever reason is sticking up far enough to touch the underside of my Athlon... fried it. I suppose when I switched the...

I plugged everything back in (at least I think...

this is a bit old school, but still memorable. i was a lab 'consultant' at penn state, where they had plenty of macs (read: doorstops). back then, those things would have a nasty habit of not ejecting your 3.5" disk through the o/s.... and of course there is no hardware eject button on those th...

Floater is the name of a killer band out in Oregon... always liked the band and the word itself. Wish I could see them live, but living in PA, don't have the occasion to go out there much.

Thanks for the info. I looked up the product page on Thermaltake and it looks as if the Silent Boost is made for the Athlon XP to 3400+ processors. I would assume that it wouldn't be compatible with my old-school Athlon 1.2g (?)

Quietest heatsink/fan

Alright, I'm just going to apologize now for not doing a thorough search, but I need a quick answer. Anybody know who makes the quietest heatsink/fan for an Athlon 1.2 gHz processor? My computer isn't used for anything hardcore (i.e. I don't O/C or run anything system-intensive), so I don't have any...

oh the mental imagery! FP, can you tape some of her playfulness and send it to AFV? I'd love to see some of that.

I have zero sympathy for her

ditto on that. ashley simpson sucks and doesn't bring any real value to society. i'll take a broader stroke and say that the whole pop music genre is full of no-talents such as ashley.
