From what you're describing, it sounds like he got a bug along with Tweak. Did he get it from Microshaft's site or from a warez site? The only other thing I can think of is a cold solderjoint on the battery clips...sounds stupid, but I've seen solder joints get our $8,000 dollar lasers returned. It ...

One thing to add, there is a second executable in the Ghost directory that's about 300k. I copy it to the CD and make the CD bootable when I burn it. Then I don't have to insert anything else to run it. Although the newest one I've seen uses a Ghost boot floppy. And by the way, If I choose the heavy...

Hey Frost, good to meet ya. Your question about the KT7A-Raid running the XP made me curious, so I went to check it out. (I got one too) Their faq says that the XP runs fine on version 1.3 boards or later ONLY! There is a bios update, but it seems only to make bios report the correct name on the pro...

Nah, too poor right now. The new owners came through and layed off 50 of us. Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with a 1G t-bird @ 1200 for now.

I have seen it done online...looks kind of like micro-bodywork, filling and leveling the new pits and such. (does bondo conduct? :D )

The burnware built into XP is lisenced from Roxio (aka EZCD). EZCD 5 Platinum worked alright in XP Pro but CDRWin ate XP for lunch. I even had the ASPI support installed. It finally booted into a BSD that I hadn't seen before: Fatal Memory Dump, and it never ran again. I just went back to 98SE. That...

Great catch! I got my own personal "lab rat" too. I give him all my shareware and 'other'ware to try before I install. Probably why he's the Format King, huh?...he can format/reinstall while sleeping. I guess it's only fair since he dropped that car on me. Standard Disclaimer: No animals w...

I checked the cpu database at overclockers.com, there's one like yours (AVHAR) running 1365 on the same board you have. That's the highest one listed. That don't sound all too bad without watercooling and voltage mods though. My 1Ghz will only do 1200 on a watercooled KT7A-Raid! I think I hit top vo...

I think DocSilly is right, shims are more dangerous. Just do what the manufacturer says: Lay the mobo flat (i.e. out of the case, on the bag it's boxed in) and don't stand on carpet...static=BAD. No-one can know exactly what height your slug is on the processor. Mine's not the same height on the fou...

Some disk manufacturers want you to try using their diagnostic utility before they'll RMA ya. Maxtor's version saved my drive, and the error didn't happen again. With 98se my system makes some wierd clicks sometimes, but it's from the speaker not the drives. Another thing SE likes to do is corrupt i...

If the fan is on the door straight out from your processor, you could go super ghetto and hack up a half liter coke bottle. (remove the label, top and bottoms) Leave tabs on one end and you can screw it right to the fan. Use/make a filter to keep dust out of your heat sink though, you'd be surprised...

Nice job...good clean lines. Not much you can add though, a window would be wasted with the tower sitting against the wall on that side. Maybe a blowhole (fan blowing out the top), how are the temperatures inside? I noticed the top two drive bays are empty, maybe an LCD or a nameplate in place of th...
