I think you would have more problems then that if your chip was dieing.

Why would a IE error mean that you chip is dieing. I don't understand that at all.

The best way I found is to enable active desktop and then hide icons becomes an option under customize when you right click on the desktop.

what ID tubeing is that? While a very nice setup, you will see large gains by upgradeing your tubeing.
