Blade, The twist part is okay. It is actually good as it helps fill voids. Just make sure you don't press too hard or press and twist unevenly. If you get too much pressure on the sides of the amd it will crack the core. I haven't tried any of the "new" AS but the original didn't do anythi...

Ordered one from Newegg earlier today. I just checked and they are still in stock at $150. When I ordered it I thought it said $200 but then they charged me $150. Cool!

sorry about the IT manager, that type is a pain.

Yes at times it is great. I have been here for 14 years. I have varying responsibilities. I spec out many workstation and desktop and laptop systems (working on sub notebooks and tablet pc's), I compile a yearly test equipment list and buy all the company test equipment. I take care of ESD and calib...

Ahhh, She doesn't keep track. But the items I am getting are for a system for me to use at work and my company is paying for it. Trust me computer cycle time is a cheap way to increase productivity. The IT people and managers just leave me alone to setup how I want so I can decide how what to use. T...

PreDatoR , FearFox is on the right track. You have several possibilities. 1. Some system files have been corrputed- Reinstall winblows. 2. It is a small world I work for Cubic Defense Applications, Inc. which used to be Cubic Defense Systems. I worked in a clean room for over 10 years. I have units on the shuttle (through sub contracts with Boeing,JHAPL, etc.) and lots of places. I do miss the space business, not many people understand...

Bigal, I have been in the business for 20 years and so has my wife who has much better soldering skills than anyone. We have worked on complete circuits that are no bigger than your fingernail. There is stuff we have worked on from here to mars. You can use a strand from some 26awg stranded wire or ...

I am not sure about the noise part but the best Powers supplies are PC Power and Cooling supplies. They have the best regulated outputs.

Bigal, Those pads will solder just fine. You just have to tack a small wire across. I have only done several hundred that way. We use Metcal equipment and we use B&L microscopes. It works very well. I do agree that there are many hacks out there who should not have a soldering iron put in their ...

I have the 2400 but still no board. I decided to get the Asus A7N8X Deluxe. If when the 400A's actually get on the street their performance is worth it, I'll upgrade again. I also wound up ordering a 2700+ I could help it. Still need a few parts. Memory, heatsink, HD's, DVD Ram, CDRW, power supply, ...

I don't know, the SCSI stuff is great and I have no problems with any of the equipment but if I had to start over, knowing what I know now, I would stick with the IDE. Unless I was building a server. Even with the SCSI the best CD ROM I ever used and still use(even over the Plextor UW) is a Kenwood ...
