I could be wrong, but I think it still uses the SLI software somehow, so it recognizes the card as two? I have a feel like the card might not work in SLI. Still, that would be one sick gaming machine. edit: yeah, it says in the article it can only use one core unless using a SLI enabled motherboard.

I guess my biggest problem is power. I'm running the 380W Antec that comes with the Sonata. It's 12v rail is 18a, so i'm just clearing the minimum specs for my athlon 64 system. I haven't updated the bios yet (all my floppy drives are dead) but from what it says now the voltages are running pretty l...

x800 Pro or 6800 GT
I am interested in what other computer enthusists think about this decision; which to buy: ATI Radeon x800 Pro or Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT. It seems that the 6800 GT has the upper hand on FPS, but the x800 Pro has image quality on its side. Pretend you are a salesman trying to sell me one of these car...

I don't think this chips are that hot. I'm pretty sure if you put a heatsink and fan on it like you have on your CPU (perhaps one of those thermalrights with 80, 92, or 120mm fans) it would run cool. I could be mistaken but I believe I read the 6800 ultra has 160 milion transistors in it. That is so...

Athlon 2400+ Mobile Question
Just put a system together for a relative as a Christmas present. This chip is amazing... too bad I only have it for one more day. Anyways, I put it in a Abit NF7 and fired it up at 13.5*133. Sweet, running about 30C idle and 33C full load. Then I realized the voltage was at 1.55 and it should be at...

LCD: Wavy Interference?
My dad has a 19" Viewsonic LCD. When we first got it for him it looked amazing. Now, for some reason, there is a lot of wavy interference going through it. It looks sort of what TVs sometimes do. At first i thought it was the wireless access point that is 2 feet away from it, but I unplugged it...

Dual motherboard computer
A few years back I saw some pictures of a computer a guy built that had two dual CPU (2GHz P4) motherboards wired together so they would work as one. I have failed in my attempts to find where this was, and i was wondering if anyone knew. I'm curious of whether they were clustered to work together r...

Just buy Athlon tbred b 2400+ 2GHz ($60) http://www.portatech.com/catalog/viewitem.asp?ID=7347 and a $36 motherboard and you'll have a computer twice as fast for probably less than a P3 CPU. http://www.partspc.com/store/product3594.html I'm not positive if that motherboard can support the 2400+ but ...

Optical Out on NF7
I have the Abit NF7 that has optical out. Basically, i will need to use this to hook up to my reciever for some true 5.1 Bose sound for my htpc setup. So, my question is, do i need to have the unboard sound enabled to use this or is this seperate? The onboard sound on this board basically doesn't wo...

I just found out that my speakers will have optical in, and my NF7 has optical out, so it looks like i'll be set. I'll see how it works out. Maybe i'll upgrade just for speed and quality. To note, the NF7-S has optical out and the sound FPS is much higher than the M-audi revolution 7.1. Revolution =...
