This is what Intel site said about hyper threading. I'm not sure it they are saying it will not work with win2k or they just dont support it. Hyper threading os

Will windows 2000 professional work with hyper threading on a system board that supports it with a 3.06gig cpu. Some people are saying that only XP will support it and some have said that win 2000 will work also. Whats the real story on hyper threading os systems

Its like marching in a single file line. No matter how fast the man in the middle of the line can walk, no one can go any faster than the slowest person is walking.

Intel mother board

Has anyone had any experence with the Intel D845PEBT2 system board. I am thinking about buying a 3.06 gig cpu and the computer shop people talk very good about this intel board. It being more stable and not having much problems with it. It uses 333 DDR memory which I am planning on putting 1 gig of ...

Synchronous and Asynchronous

As I understand it (I think I understand it) that if a computer is in synchronous mode ( the memory speed and FSB speed are the same) then the cpu will opperate at a faster rate compared to Asyncronous mode ( where the memory is a higher speed 166 to the FSB at 133) because of wait cycles for one to...

Raid 0 system

Would it be a bad idea to use 2 100gig hard drives in a raid 0 system as opposed to just 1 larger drive in a single drive system. I like the idea of a very fast hard drive system but I do understand that 2 drives have twice the amount of problems as a single drive does. It will be used mostly for vi...

137 gig limit

Am I think correctly that currently you can only go up to a 137 gig partition on a hard drive. Is there a way to use the whole 200 gig as a single partition.

Ati AIW 9700pro

I am looking at a intel board for a 3.06 gig cpu and want to put in a AIW 9700 pro board. The motherboard only supports AGP4x. Since the 9700pro can use 8x will I see any great speed reduction or should I try to find a board that supports AGP 8x.

intel motherboard

I'm thinking about building a p4 3.06 system. The computer store guy said that the intel boards he sells are the best way to go on a p4 system. Rock solid and very good board. The board number is a intel D845PEBT2. It uses DDR333 ram. Anybody have anything to say good or bad about this board. What w...

2800 Barton or T-bred

I want to upgrade to a 2800 Amd chip and a nforce2 ,maybe a Asus a7n8x board. I will probably put 2 512 meg chips on it using CL2 memory running 333 or either 400 speed memory. Would the Barton chip be a better way to go or stay with the T-bred chip at 2.25 ghz. I think the Barton runs at a little s...

Tell me something about the dual channel ddr stuff. I hear some people saying the dual channel for nforce2 boards is worthless for AMD chips. I am going to go with a 2800 chip, haven't decided on the T-bred or Barton yet and probably a Asus a7n8x board with dual 512 mb chips. Will I have any problem...

I am getting ready to upgrade to the 2800 chip. I will probably be using a nforce2 board, maybe the Asus a7n8x board. My question is should I get the t-bred chip or the barton chip. I think the t-bred is 2.25ghz and the barton I think is a little slower processor speed. What are your suggestions . I...

My daugther said the Sims game will run on win 2k but keeps shutting down at times and has all kinds of errors. Will run very stable on win 98 like it was designed to run in but not stable at all in win 2k. Does anyone know of a patch or fix to make it work correctly on win 2k.

Thanks
