Heard lots of good things and lots of bad things about the drive.

I have a plex 32 that doesnt have problems reading stuff. (Good service too - my dad f'ed it up and they replaced it without a hastle)

The major difference with linux is that its free (and open source). You really can't complain when something is free. I use:

<li>Nero - Audio, Data
<li>CDR-Win - bin/cues
<li>Fireburner - .iso's (linux distro is the only time I used it)
<li>CloneCD - most copies

I don't use directCD cause it screws with my precious Nero. Otherwise, I'm sure I'd find it useful.
