Bought a R8500 at Best Buy today, seems to be a pretty good card. So now I have GF3, 8500, and V5- which will will a place in my big box og gaming goodness????

This is pretty crappy news if true. I'll be stuck in V5 land forever if ATI doesn't get something out the door.

I am using version 4.12.01.0666, 11/21/2000 from voodoofiles.com. So far work great with everything, although Max Payne is the newest game I've tried with them.

Actually Mandrake, you have made me see the error of my ways. My V5 ships today, my GF3 goes on the shelf. I'll let the poster know what the best driver is when I decide.

Brotha was the cause of the fall of 3dfx.
For a year and a half told us how the V5-6K would kick ass.

This guy has gone from GF2 to GF3 to GF4, so I don't think any discussion is outside the realm of what he is willing to consider...

This is one strange post. The hardware of yesteryear mated to current best hardware. If you buy a Athlon XP, why don't you leave that generic ECS crap alone, buy a little slower cpu, and a better motherboard. A quality motherboard is the foundation of a decent computer. ECS boards aren't $50 because...

Sorry SBP, but IMHO the 7500 is the clear choice here. 8500 vs. Ti500 I could go either way, although would lean Ti500 after seeing the latest Anand benches of SS and UT.
All moot point now anyway, the only cards I would currently consider are Ti4400 and Ti4600
