Fixed it! :D I put the Ultra100 in a different PCI slot, made the HD on the Ultra100 the primary master and everything works as it should. Perhaps just unplugging the Ultra100 and rebooting did the trick, I guess I'll never know! Is is very strange that it worked OK in that configuration with bios 1...

Hi smb, yes I have the promise card set as the 4th boot device. I also have the IRQ's assigned to each card. My second HD's first partition is active. I have not tried a different card. I think I'll go in this weekend and remove the HD from the Promise card and put it on the onboard controller and p...

Thanks guys for the replies. bitSLAP you are correct, I don't want to boot from the Ultra 100. PnP OS is off and always runs in off position. I have moved the PCI cards around and assigned IRQ's to each of the SCSI card, Ultra 100, modem and sound. There are no recorded conflicts. There are no loose...

Well I solved my shutdown problem and it had nothing to do with my ram. I unplugged a USB mouse and the computer shuts down correctly. :D Why it worked when my ram settings were lower is beyond me??? If any of you are having this shutdown problem, take a look at your USB devices. Thanks all for the ...

My system - P3700@1000, 1.8v, 256 PC143 sdram, Asus CUSL2, Win98se. When I run 143/107/35 I have no problem, but at 143/143/35 my computer won't shutdown! I get much better memory scores on Sanda when memory is at 143, so I would prefer to stay there. Any ideas on how to solve this....I would like t...

Raymond, where are you getting your temp readings? From the bios? That is the reading I would trust. Software temp monitors are not always correct as I found out with Asus probe. I don't think your temps will hurt your CPU. I ran at 50C for quite sometime before installing an Alpha Pal35 on my P3 70...
