I don't understand why nVidia wants to buy any piece of 3DFX, especially for $100+MM. Do they really need anything 3DFX has to offer? Interestingly, the news of this buyout has driven down the price of nVidia stock. Let the compnay dissolve and then just hire the stars from the 3dfx development team...

I highly doubt it will play without skipping or hiccuping. I recently put a Pioneer 104S in my buddy's Dell LX P2 300 box that had a 4MB STB Velocity 128. DVD just barely played and you could tell the system was going all out. You definitely could not do anything else while playing a DVD. Since the ...

Thank you. This myth has to be the biggest piece of misinformation that I see in threads. You would be surprised at how many threads there debating this at Anands right now. Drives me crazy seeing people go to the such extremes as putting only one device on each chain and stocking up with Promise ca...

You are kind of over thinking it a bit. Having them on the same chain will slow the speed down to that of the slower device only when they are being accessed at the same time. However, since you have the scondary HP chain free, you may as well put the smaller HDD over there to avoid this, but really...

If you map the thumb button to a keyboard key using the Intellipoint software and then map the key in the game to the function you want you should be good to go. This is an especially good trick for games that do not natively support the extra button. For example - in Q3, make something like F1 = ba...
