GSuite ending - now what?
Howdy, folks. It's been a long time. I went looking for a non-Google-run forum to ask about this, but search results didn't give back anything promising. I suppose that's my first question: does anyone know of a good non-Google-run forum for discussing Google products? The reason I'm posting is that...

Random reboots - looking for advice
Hey, everyone. Happy winter and such. (I just escaped some near-frostbite today--yikes! Had fun skiing though.) I'm back for some advice. My PC is randomly rebooting and I think it has to do with hardware but I'm not sure. Tech specs: * PSU: Corsair Professional Series AX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80...

Testing a gigabit internet link
Hello, all. I'm looking for a way to test a gigabit net link. I have a fiber line from Cogent with "1000Mbps unmetered" but I need to verify that I'm actually getting that bandwidth. I'm having a hard time finding a host that will actually let me pull/push a solid gbit. I have a lot of IPs...

Need suggestios on building backup server
So, I have a Hadoop cluster that I need to upgrade, and it has about 7T of unique data. I think I can do the upgrade without backing up, but why take that chance?! I have a 20 bay (3.5") server and I found 12 @ 2T WD Blacks lying around. I went to boot my server up, and, to make a long story sh...

Sort of a BS way of benching, but I've been busy using this PC, so, here's what Windows thinks of it. http://imageshack.us/a/img834/8037/windowsscore.png What's strange to me is that Windows doesn't seem to care about how much RAM I have, just how fast it is. With many people's PCs swapping RAM to (...

But couldn't eight different processes running at the same time take advantage of eight logical cores? I mean, from the OS's perspective, multitple hreads and multiple processes are two ways of getting simultaneous execution, right? Say I had oodles of Chromes open. Couldn't each of my Chromes use a...

CPUs again
What about this i7-3770S CPU? It is actually given a higher performance per price rating than the i5-3570K.
I don't get why this lower clock rate CPU actually gets higher performance than some of the 3.4/3.6GHz ones. Can someone explain that?

Ok, I will be ordering direct from Curcial. Cheaper than Amazon in this case! I was surprised to find that they listed my exact motherboard. Good suggestion! I think I'll stick with my little M-Audio USB guy for now. I don't need inputs since I have a Yetti mic, and the outputs on that PV8 are 1/4&q...

Thanks, FP
Very glad you're still on here, FP! Thanks for your reply. You're saying something like this 7770 would be a good four monitor idea? I'd be using both display ports, converting them to DVI (I suppose), the DVI port, and the HDMI port. Unless there are monitors that take display port directly. I don'...

New PC Decisions
Well, it is time for a complete rebuild. I've been running on my very first computer for about eight years, having upgraded the video card once, the motherboard once, the CPU once, the hard drive to a Kingston SSD and then to an Intel 330 SSD, and the RAM to 8G. But the processor is an old dual core...

SOCKS5 tunnel
I own an authenticated SOCKS5 subscription. I want to use it with FoxyProxy and other programs which do not support auth'ed socks5 (just SOCKS5 with no auth). Note that you cannot enter a password in FF or other common browsers in your SOCKS5 settings. Therefore, I need some program to put in palce ...
