See I bought my computer off ebay and im not sure what kindof cpu exactly..How do i know what kind it is? All it says is amd athlon xp 2700+ 2.16 ghz (in the system menu)

Ok thanx for the post man....At 133mhz it says I have 1700+...So if the cpu is a 2700 and its not really overclocked then how do i overclock it? or should I not even try lol

First off im new to overclocking (first time)...I have a few questions if anyone will be nice enough to help me...On my asus A7V8X-MX mobo I have some switchs to set the mhz my cpu gets. When I have it set at the defualt (100 mhz) it says my cpu is a amd athlon1500+1.3 ghz...Set on the highest 166.6...

Well I found out my problem.I feel so dumb.. I didnt read my mobo manual good enough i guess but I had my dip switches turn the wrong way .. Now it boots up fine ...thanx for the help !!

The psu works fine. I tryed another one just to see and same thing happens.

Thanx for the help I took my cpu apart and put it back on. Now it stays on! Only now it wont show anything on the monitor? Everything seems to be working so I dont get it? I always have bad luck

I have a AMD Atlon 2700.. 512mb ram..40gig hd..on a Asus A7V8X-MX motherboard. My problem is that every time I turn on the computer from the back it will start up for 1 sec then turn off...then it does the same thing agian and shuts down for good? I unplugged all parts..trying diff things to try and...
