Picked up this $1K MSI gaming laptop for $400
I have been keeping an eye out for a 15" laptop to replace the beastly 4 year old 17" HP Envy laptop I'm currently using. I no longer need a big screen as, due to a happy byproduct of aging, my far sightedness has reversed itself in the past year due to early cataracts reshaping my eyes. T...

RustDesk: Open Source Alternative to Teamviewer
Teamviewer has become a bloated mess, and the so-called free version was giving me problems setting it up on a new laptop last night. So I hit Reddit for alternatives and found RustDesk highly recommended. It's open source, it's simple to set up, it can be installed or just run as a one time executa...

Gadgets For People Who Don't Trust The Government
I may build the rig to download weather satellite data directly. That's pretty damn cool. Also going to look into that mesh communications system. Might be useful for the next hurricane,

Re: I've gotten back into R/C Planes after a 12+ year hiatus...
BTW the reason it took so long to paint the engine cowl is I have been having a hard time consistently landing that plan intact. It's a hard plane to land. I saw no purpose it making it pretty if I was going to bash it up. Learning to fly is easy - I can teach any of you to fly a STABLE plane in a f...

Re: I've gotten back into R/C Planes after a 12+ year hiatus...
Actually next time I need plane hangers I may hit you up. I have been ordering them from a guy on Etsy here in Florida, for a very reasonable price. They're about half the cost of what a reseller on Amazon sells them for and they're made from the same plan. He charges between $20 a $24 for a set dep...

Like it a lot. It's got some interesting features. Been meaning to set it up at home to try out Wifi7 on my AR headset.

Finally got around to painting the 3D printed engine cowl that Pugsley made for my Aeromaster bi-plane. Also added a red prop spinner to give it a streamlined look.

Re: Microsoft broke File Sharing in Windows 11. How To Fix Windows 11 File Sharing
I gotta say they actually broke this in Win10, but it was a later update. Basically they wanted to keep people from using a guest account for security reasons. I understand that, but if it's your home network, and you're behind a NAT router, what's the real risk?
