Re: Steam Stats

Yeah I haven't tried any games on Linux Mint yet, as I have it installed on a spare laptop to get use to the OS. I've heard pros and cons for gaming in Linux, so I don't think its there yet, BUT it's a lot better than it was 5 years ago.

Re: Doom Remake 4: Classic Doom gets a complete 3D facelift

I went in to change the resolution to my monitor: 1980x1080, which is in the menu, but it I don't see any adjustment after selecting it. I really like the music. I've been playing 98% of the time with just the shot gun. It's a blast to shoot a barrel and watch all the blood and gibs go flying.

Re: Doom Remake 4: Classic Doom gets a complete 3D facelift

I thought that I could play it on my old Leveno laptop, T510, but I remembered that I have the crappy Intel graphics on board. So I loaded it up on my gaming rig which work just fine. What an improvement including the music. I played for a couple of hours yesterday. I was also trying to remember all...

Re: Microsoft's killer Windows 7 patch: Breaks networking, bricks legit 'Not genuine' PCs

Well, I'm going to keep my updates turned off, and I'm going to rely on this site that has only security updates only: https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/2000003-ongoing-list-of-group-b-monthly-updates-for-win7-and-8-1/ Site has great instructions for "Option B" which is what I want. Ea...

Re: Bank friendly gaming tower

I'm no expert at selecting new hardware pieces for a new pc, but I usually always purchase used hardware to save money. I don't mind if the mobo is only 1 year old. My graphics card is mid range, but it has 6GB of ram on board (NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060). Plays all my slim selection of games, includin...

Re: Microsoft's killer Windows 7 patch: Breaks networking, bricks legit 'Not genuine' PCs

This kind of garbage just motivates me more and more to try out SteamOS or similar. Same here. Early last year, I decided to give Linux Mint a try. I have it on a spare laptop using version 18.3. Works very well, especially the way it does updates: https://sites.google.com/site/easytipsforlinux/lin...

That's it. Fvck MS. I have updates turned off on only 2 of my 5, but now I'm going to turn all of them off.

Re: Cheap and fairly accurate digital humidity meters

If I was still located in our Southern CA site, you could have sent me just one of them, and I would have checked it at 5 points between 20 and 90%RH. I would have then created a linear regression table taking into account the error in the sensor with the compensation of the linear regression. With ...

Re: Cheap and fairly accurate digital humidity meters

I've calibrated several of these when I was doing tech work. The typical accuracy for humidity is +/- 5%, but when you start going below 10%, it' gets difficult to measure humidity with these type of sensors, and the accuracy gets quite large. We have a really good one that we bought from Vaisala th...
