Re: Bought an S9+

Yeah I was reading about Bixby and went ahead and set it up since it's the only way to disable it if you wanted to. Most of the complains about it are related to the left button which most will touch, then it will activate Bixby. I'm not a big fan of this type of assistance, but WTF - I'll try it an...

Re: Bought an S9+

Well, I gave up on my S5 since you can't get a decent battery replacement. They are all crap from China. The battery will work great for the first few days, then it requires constant charging. So I bought a S9. I did not get the +, as I weighed my options on what I needed. I like the fact that the S...

Re: How Robin Williams was being torn apart and couldn't fight back

Wow. Poor guy. I saw Robin before he became famous in 1977 in a comedy bar in Pacific Beach in Southern CA. I went there with 2 of my buddies, and we made a mistake by sitting in the front row. Robin ripped us since were were stoned and partially drunk. After we left, we talked about how different t...

Re: Save $500 on a Google Pixel XL (Verizon only) at Best Buy

Hum...sounds tempting. I'm giving my phone one more try with a new battery that is on order. If I still have to charge the phone twice a day, then I'll opt for the new phone. Is this deal all month at BB? I have one only 2 miles from my home.

Re: Copying shared permissions to a new drive

Acronis did not work for me. It created an EFI partition on the drive, and my system did not recognize it. So I pulled out my old information I had with DOS and XCOPY and XCOPY did the trick. I used the /e/h/k/o/x parameters. I was also surprised how fast it copied the files over to the new drive, i...

Re: Copying shared permissions to a new drive

LOL - I forgot about Acronis. I always used it for a backup image and forgot that it can also clone a drive.

Copying shared permissions to a new drive

Received my new 4TB drive yesterday. I was copying files over from old 2TB drive to the new 4TB drive when it occurred to me that shared permissions will not carry over to the new drive with Windows copy/paste command. Does Teracopy work for this? Also, the drive I decided to get was the WD Blue whi...

Re: Tour of the Moon in 4K

History Channel has a special on the moon, and I was surprised that some are saying that the moon may be hollow. Talked about the possibilities that the moon was placed here. Goes on about other issues with the moon. History Channel Show: Ancient Aliens: Is the Moon Natural or Artificial? https://yo...

Re: Windows 7 slow to shut down

OK I'll try SpinRite. I wish Steve would update the program. To run level 2, I need to change the ACHI setting to standard IDE. Have you ever run level 4 on a SSD?

Re: Windows 7 slow to shut down

I'm using an SSD for the boot drive. I do have ESET installed, but I never had problems with it in the past. I also have Malwarebytes installed and it monitors in the background. The problem with this mobo is it's old - almost 10 years. I've also run a windows check disk and no issues were found. Al...

Windows 7 slow to shut down

I normally leave my PC on 24/7 at home unless I'm going on vacation. I've been noticing that when I do shut if off, it can take 3-5 minutes for it to shut off. If I turn it back on and wait a few minutes, then shut it down, it only takes 20 seconds. I googled and tried some of the suggestions but no...
