Re: Anandtect to close down after 27 years :(

Went there and they have this posted: Hi folks, We wanted to make sure that you’re aware of this article that just went out regarding the future of Anandtech. I wanted to clarify that even though we are ceasing content creation on the main site, there are no plans to close the forum at this time. We...

Re: Anandtect to close down after 27 years :(

Wow. I still remember chatting with Anand in 1998 or 1999 I think. He had a bulletin board style (don't remember the exact name). All the conversations were live and would scroll on the screen. Mostly talking about hardware and issues with windows.

Re: had to get a new phone today

I'm done with Samsung when I traded in my S9 for a Pixel 8 pro. I had no idea they are already on a 9. My middle daughter is using a Pixel 3, and it still gets updates which is why it turned me off of getting another Samsung phone.

Thanks. I like how calmly he reacted. Got his wife and cart out of the way before he kicked his ass.

Re: Citizen Eco-Drive Watches

I ended up getting a Fitbit Charge 6. It's an okay watch. I was looking at the Samsung watches, but I got rid of my Samsung watch and went with a Pixel 8 Pro.

Re: Looking like some Intel 13th gen failures are a hardware defect

Got this from the Hard Forum: 1.) Out of 1584 game decompression errors during the 90 day data retention period across both databases, 1431 of the errors are on Intel 13th or 14th gen CPU's. Second place (after 13900KS/K/KF and 14900KS/K/KF) is the i7-9700H with only 11 instances. AMD CPU's only had...

If your card is inactive for twelve consecutive months, a $0.95 fee will be subtracted from your balance for each month thereafter of continued inactivity.
WTF? Is that even legal?

Re: Key Fob Battery Learning Experience

Don't buy Duracell batteries. Costco sells them and they are junk. The always leak. I went to using Amazon batteries, but they don't seem to last that long. Like you, I'm on Energizer batteries.

Re: Windows 10 will get five years of additional support thanks to 0patch

It would be easier to simply install 11 even on none compliant CPU's. For a trial, I installed 11 on a Dell N7110 that did not have UEFI, Secure Boot, and CPU not supported. Seemed to work fine.
