Re: Halp!
I would swear I didn't reverse the microphone/headphone jacks and ... between grief brain and pandemic isolation, I probably did and forgot what I was doing. I'm also remembering John saying that 90% (give or take) of "computer problems" are operator error. Durn! That would be me this time...

Re: Halp!
Thank you! Sigh. Sometimes its the simple and obvious things. Yes, speakers plug in in the back, headphones in the front. I hadn't checked if the speakers were plugged in in the back -- they were, but they were loose. I'm suspecting the cat (truly). I'm the only person here and no one's been in the ...

Halp!
So ... I updated Windows 10 about a week ago. Now my external speakers don't work. Headphones do. Can't figure out how to make the speakers work. And ... John did all my computer update and fixing. My navigation skills for figuring out things on my hard drive or ? are probably more dangerous than do...

Re: iPad question
Thank you.
I figured I would (have to go through the process twice). They apparently put it on an Apple gift card, so should be easy peasy after that.

Re: iPad question
Thank you! My current one is 32 GB and running out of storage, soooo ... Definitely want to do the trade-in. It will actually be two of them: mine and John's. Hopefully they'll go for that. A plain iPad looks like it will do perfectly, but they don't (currently) have any refurbed 64's. I'm thinking ...

iPad question
I need to replace my approx 5 year old iPad Air. Any recommendations re: which would be optimal? I want something with decent RAM, which I'm finding isn't mentioned much :-( I use it mostly for social media and game apps. TIA. <3

I'm such a chicken about this stuff, sigh. Reading the posts is helping big time! Soooo grateful there's an option to import the CSV file! Thank you <3

Re: Password Security
Given that PE firms can get squirrely really fast, depending on who's at the helm, I'm going to take a look at Bitwarden.

Re: Password Security
Thank you. I suspect I'm using it incorrectly. Time to find some "how to use". As I recall, I signed up while John was still with us and I wasn't super focused on it. I'm catching up with a number of things these days. But boy do I miss him!!!

Is Last Pass the best option out there? Part of why I'm asking is I've been slowly adding sites to it. When I log into those sites, UN and PW are already there, all I have to do is click. I'm not sure that's how its supposed to work. Doesn't feel "safe" to me, unless I shut down my compute...

Re: No longer getting post notifications via email
For some reason (ether magic?) I got reply notifications this morning!! YAY!! Maybe it just took the server(s) some time to recognize me ... or something? Ennyhoo ... it's working. Thank you all for your patience and concern.

Re: No longer getting post notifications via email
OK (please forgive me, still learning ins and outs of a forum), I found a like FP posted re: notifications and didn't have all the e-mail options checked. They are now. Hopefully now I'll get notifications. If I don't, I'll post again here. Thanks for being patient with the newby.

Re: No longer getting post notifications via email
I have a .com e-mail and I'm not getting notifications of posts/replies. I've NO idea if there's something I need to do on my end and, if so, what it is. The info you folks have in here is, umm, massive, so I don't know where to look. Darcy gave me the link for this thread.
