Gotta wonder if this post isn't a gag but... Socket 7 board can't supply enough current for modern 3D cards. And Nexus_7 is right - even if the card DID work on the mobo, it would be no faster than an old Riva TNT2 or a Voodoo3 - you're SEVERELY CPU limited. Take the vid card back and invest the mon...

If the card has TV out, ANY recent Det driver should allow you to use it.
Any driver from STB is going to be WAY out of date.

It's the F6 key I think. First question the Win2K (or XP) install asks is to hit F6 if you need to install SCSI or other (like ATA100) drivers, or else hit Return to continue. Hit F6 to load the SCSI drivers. You MUST have the drivers unzipped and ready on a FLOPPY (you can't access them off a CD or...

Well sorry if I came off sounding that way :( I will quote my original reply here which I think was an honest and fair opinion on my part and leave it at that: I don't like Radeon cards. Some people are happy with theirs but I and many others have been disappointed at lack luster driver support from...

VIDMAN, why do you insist on making this an ATI versus NVidia thread? The guy asked for an opinion. I've given my opinion based ON MY EXPERIENCES. I've had no luck with Radeons. So have others - ask Doc Silly who gave up on his and went for a GF3 Ti-200 like I did and is a WHOLE lot happier now. I'v...

All right, I will admit there's ONE sport I used to watch avidly when I lived in New York (can't get it down here). WOMEN'S ROLLER DERBY!!!! Now THAT'S entertainment. Nothing like watch tall amazons in tight shorts beat the crap outta each other on roller skates. 500 cable channels... surely by now ...

I've tried running a Radeon DDR 64mb Vivo on my rig and despite a lot of tweaking it ran decidedly worse than the Geforce DDR I tried to replace with it. I've also helped some friends out with a variety of other Radeon cards. Overall I have not been impressed by Radeons. Most everyone in the industr...
