Frankly I'd shop around for a good price on a GF2 GTS. Now that the GF2 & GF3 Titanium cards have come out, it's driving the price of the GF2 GTS down - you can find them for around $120.

The MX is a budget card and suffers in performance in resolutions over 800x600.

First of all this is VERY preliminary. It may take a year to complete the investigation. And for crying out loud - eye witnesses are NOTORIOUSLY unreliable in airplane crashes. You can't deny the fact that they found the tail in the bay and that the vertical fin and elevators broke off in flight BEF...

Don't check the "Use this as default protocal" - you're telling Windows NOT to use TCP/IP!

Netbeui will be used for file sharing exclusively if nothing else is bound to file sharing.

I'm elated with my Visiontek GF3 Ti-200. Fast and text is sharp.

A lot of bang for the bucks.

Anyone know how to disable the file search wizard in WinXP?

I've got XP running on a testbed and the ONE thing that's really driving me crazy about it is the obnoxious new file search wizard. PLEASE tell me there's a way to disable it and make it work like it does in Win2K/NT/9x!!! I use file search a LOT and when I use it I usually open an explorer view in ...

I know in Win2K if Hibernate or sleep mode crashes or locks up the computer 4 times in a row, you get a message on bootup the next time telling you this and asking if you want to disable that feature. If you answer yes, you can nver enable it again and I've found no way of getting around that. Maybe...

Interesting mod. I like it and I HATE Q3 - might make the game enjoyable. Makes me nostalgic for the frenetic pace of Quake1

Do you have ACPI enabled in BIOS? Also try running the Add Hardware wizard and see if possibly it has to re-install the ACPI device - if it does it should detect it.

Wrong place. Open Network and Dialup Connections window. Do NOT click on local area connection. Instead, bring down the Advanced menu and select Advanced Settings. Make sure your local area connection is highlighted and in the box below it lists all the bindings for each service. Uncheck TCP/IP from...

Useful link Doc. Thanks! I've got a BH6 that hibernates okay but I could never get it working on my Abit BE6-II. I've seen a lot of problems with hibernate. Apparently some mobos support it better than others, and even when it works sometimes it just hangs for no reason. I've even seen new Compaq an...

In Xp or Win2K you have top open the Network settings window in Control Panel then bring down the Advanced menu then click on Advanced Settings.

You'll see File and Printer Sharing listed and a list of protocals it's bound to. Uncheck TCP/IP

Do the same for Client for Microsoft Networks.

Major performace hit using new Pop-up Stopper 2.6

Fair warning. I installed it (under Win2K) and it affected page load time DRAMATICALLY. Even disabled. I thought it was my cable provider until I uninstalled it.

I went back to version 2.2 and all is well.

VE gone?

I dunno what's up with VoodooExtreme. Anyone hear anything?

News and forums are down. DNS resolves but no response.

I haven't heard anything and I moderate the tech forums so I'm in the dark. Wonder if their sponsor pulled the plug?
