I am going to found my own religion. I will become a minister via mail order, file for tax exempt status, and speak on talk shows about subjects I don't understand just to gain some public limelight.... oh, never mind, Al Sharpton beat me to it.... :D

No Socket 7 was Pentium 1 and also 1st generation AMD up to 233. 2nd generation AMD CPUs from 266 to around 500 were Super Socket 7. This should be a Pentium II, but it's the mobility version designed for laptops so it's not a Slot 1 (obviously - wouldn't fit). However I THINK that they may also hav...

They ARE round - they have to be. The substrate is made by sending a beam of light through a mask. The image of the mask is projected through a series of lenses in a circle, thus the target needs to be a circle. Took me a while to find a chip fab tutorial on Google, but here you go: http://www.infra...

What I would be concerned about, however, is how they react when one or both detects a virus. They could conflict at that point. I'd test it to make sure they don't defeat each other. If anyone needs a "test" virus let me know and I'll email it to you. Perfectly safe - it's an OLD virus (d...

That is the problem with the world: religion. It is the source of most of mankind's suffering up to the present day. AMEN. More blood has been shed and misery caused in 10,000 years of human history in the name of religion than anything else. I believe in God, but I don't believe in organized relig...

It's a Pentium II class CPU (they never made a Pentium 1 over 233 Mhz).

If it has a hardware decoder, you can get smooth DVD playback from a P-200, but I'd say a P2-266 would be adequate.

It's not likely that the update caused the problem. Try going back to an even earlier Restore Point that you definately know was before the problem occured.

Dopey, WinXP can be installed on ANY drive letter (mine's on E because I dual boot for instance) but once installed on a particular drive letter you CANNOT move it to another letter.

Windows may boot since XP is fairly letter independent, but your apps will all be broken.

Since AV's use system hooks I'd be concerned that 2 AVs would interfere with each other.

You need to add some command lines. Examples: Explorer /e,/select,c:\ This opens a two-pane Explorer view with none of the drives expanded. This is handy if you have multiple drives and use them all frequently. Explorer /e,d:\ This opens a two-pane Explorer window that initially displays the content...

For those that haven't caught on - that's a raw substrate wafer as it comes out of a fabrication line - it has hundreds of processor chips (just the little chips in the center of your CPU) on it. They need to be cut out in the next step and a soldered to a CPU package. 80% of a CPU is just the packa...
