My HP Scanjet G3110 works fine.
It will scan 4 slides or negatives at a time.
It was around $100 but I'm not sure what the current equivalent model is.

The AMD 7970 will be available for sale on January 09.
Looks to me like it will be about 40% faster then the AMD 6970.
It's way too expensive for me at $550.
