I toured that carrier (George Washington) when it was at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, FL four years or so ago.

If you EVER get a chance to visit a carrier DO IT. They're impressive as hell.

No, I still have a Program Files folder on my E drive (my XP boot partition is E) but I don't use it. Whenever I install something I always do a custom install and specify the D partition. I put all my apps in the root of the D partition for convenience, although you could make a "Program Files...

I'd check those cables made by the shop. You get ALL KINDS of wacky problems with bad cables - may SEEM to work okay, but does strange things. Making cables is a suck-ass job and they usually make the new kid do it. Some of those bozos making cables in computer shops don't know how to do it. MAJOR G...

The card doesn't come with a cable, and the damn firewire cables are expensive. If you have a Big Lots store nearby, they often have them for $7. I just bought a Canon ZR45 MC. VERY happy with it. it was $520 at BuyDig.com (I can highly recommend them) in a bundle with a darn nice camera bag, 2 tape...

Well I finally got them to explain. They're sending the stores a VPN router, so they just need a DSL account with a block of 4 static IPs and they're just using the telco's router as a bridge.

Sheesh, like pulling nails trying to get info.

Thanks for all your help.

You sure your cables are good? Are they home made? It's EASY to screw up homemade cables. It's possible to get a link light and have a bad pair.

Excel help file is worthless. Thanks, but those instructions don't help. I can right click on a cell and select "Remove Hyperlink" and that leaves the text and just kills the hyperlink, but the next time you copy text from or edit that cell, the hyperlink is automatically restored. I want ...

I'd rather have the PII than the Celery, except that the Celery is probably overclockable and the PII is not.

PII was a better processor. The cache makes a difference in games.

Stupid Excel question: How do I disable automatic hypertext links?

I hate Excel. I use it for one thing only: my client database. I'll probably switch to some kind of Contact manager program. Meanwhile, I need to know ONE THING which I can't find the answer for anywhere. I have a column for client's email addresses. Friggin' Excel assumes you want to make all email...

I never use anything but compression. Nothing wrong with it. With high compression you usually get around 2 to 1 compression.
