3D Screen Saver fries NVidia GFX 5800...

Greg, you're going to love this one... Courtesy of Lurker at the Red-Eye LAN forums: http://megagames.com/news/html/hardware/gfx5800ultrahatesscreensavers.shtml What a stupid design flaw. Why isn't there a redundant temp sensor that turns on the fan if the card get's too hot? Oh man, NVidia really s...

...and the sad part is his lawyer will probably get a jury of dumb yokels to go in his favor: http://www.startribune.com/stories/531/3828803.html Bullet didn't misfire, it put a hole in the lion and the lion DID eventually die. So the lion had great stamina. That's a reason to sue the bullet manufac...

I doubt it was from Norton directly. Everybody and his brother is trying to sell me Systemworks. I get spam about that all the time.

Best system I've found. I'm anal retentive :) I'm sloppy about some things, but if I can't put my hands on a CD in 30 seconds, I get pissed. I buy the case logic 3-ring loose-leaf book sleeves (each sheet holds 8 CDs). No one carries them locally so I get them from CDW.com. They're cheap in bulk: ht...

Shop around for a cool cane at the flea markets. That's what I did.

Also, I recommend you use high-tops when you start running again. You'll need the extra support. That ankle is going to be susceptible to injury again and it might not take much until you build up some strength on it.

Come by and visit me. The cats catch and kill SCORPIONS in the house all the time...

Spiders don't bother me. They EAT all the other bugs. They are my friends.

I have a good quality QuickTime image of it here: http://soldcentralfl.com/bob/cog.mov

Right click and save-as. It's 5Mb. If you double size it you can see some good detail.

Grab it quick and don't share the link. I'll take it off in a few days to keep my server bandwidth from exceeding my quota.

HL runs just fine in Win2K. I'm a heavy HL player and was running Win2K for a long time before XP.

Anyone playing Black Hawk Down? Looking for opinions.

I'd like some opinions, in particular concerning multi-player.

Thx.

That's why I gave up running and started mountain biking instead. I'm 6' 4" and weight 220. My doctor warned me that if I kept up with the running I'd eventually do myself some serious injury. Just not built for it. Never twisted it as bad as you did but came real close a few times. I never let...

Because some A-hole mass marketter is making a fortune from selling software that targets Messenger service , and stupid Microsoft leaves the messenger service enabled on an XP Pro Home install when there's no need for it.

Jim-Z: What bad experience you have to give you that opinion? Are you going by Lite-on standards more than 3 years ago? Yes they were crap back then. I've literraly bought dozens of Lite-on CDRW for clients and have owned several myself. My server and LAN party systems each have one (a 32X and a 48X...

For those of you who used to enjoy playing mousetrap or setting up dominos... http://www.honda.co.uk/newcars/accord300k.html The REALLY amazing thing is that it's not done in CG. Took a whopping 607 takes (with a long reset between each one) to get it right. Interesting article on how they did it he...

All I'm saying was that we didn't NEED to fight a war. There were alternatives if we were just concerned about WMD. And I'm not talking about inspections. Anyone ask yourselves how we seemed to know everytime important people walked into a house in Iraq? There's been a LOT of HUMINT going on the pas...
