I'll have to read up on that format /mbr. I DO know that an fdisk /mbr will eliminate a boot sector virus. Not sure about format /mbr though.

That's not "dial-up". Enternet acts like a dialup connection in some versions to install itself in the DUN, but there's no dialing involved. You're on a permanent connection - just logging on.

You can't turn it off as far as I know, but you shouldn't be having too many problems. The SMC is very savvy about modern apps and games that need to work through a firewall. There are a few special situations that will involve adjusting settings. ESPECIALLY if you try to run a server behind a firew...

Yeah this new admin mod works nice. Definately keeps the idiots under control. Most servers have it setup so if you TK 4 times without any forgives by the target player, you get banned for 30 minutes. The next time you get 4 TKs you get permananently banned. Everyone is MIGHTY polite since they want...

No that doesn't hep, but I figured it out - any why some people have low gunshot volume. The effects volume in the game ONLY affects Max's voice and the boss' voices on an SBLive. It does not affect anything else. I had my volume turned down and all it was doing was muting Max. So you effectively ha...

It sounds like your CD player has a problem reading the CD - probably due to the SafeDisc copy protection. Try the SafeDisc patch from their site here: http://www.macrovision.com/solutions/software/fix.php3 Also, if you have the room, you can try copying the CD to a HD folder and then installing it ...

No, a low-level is something else entirely. It's another layer down actually designating the sectors and tracks on the drive. Here's an (admittedly rough) analogy: Assume a hard drive is like an asphalt parking lot at Disney World. A low level format paints the lines for the parking spaces... Fdisk ...

No, an FDISK does not erase all information. There are utiltiies such as Lost and Found that can restore old data even after it's been FDISKed and formatted. For the average person, this isn't much of a concern. For a company worried about the security of old data, it's an issue. You also don't need...

Hmm. Gun shots are more than loud enough - just can't hear Max's voice or the bosses. I'll check it out though.

Thanks...

If it's installed, it'll probably be in your Accessories programs folder somewhere.

The actual files are in \program files\frontpage express

If you can't find it, then you didn't install it. Go to Add/Remove programs, click on the Windows Setup tab and find it and install it.

Max Payne Graphics Issues & Performance

Well I solved my crashing problems in Win2K by changing video to 16bit in the game. I also started playing with the visual quality settings. The game looks VERY impressive with everything cranked up, which I can do on my P3-550@733, Geforce256 DDR no problem at 800x600x16 With all the sliders to the...

Just played on a server witrh the new anti-TK admin mod, VERY cool.

You get 4 TKs and you're automatically banned - PERMANENTLY.

Whoever you Tk'd can forgive you by saying FORGIVE TK.

Seems to work very well so far. AMAZING how polite people suddenly become.... :)
