I'm watercooling my 3 year old system but the new system will be aircooled again. The aircooled HSF have been enhanced in the last few years, especially now that there're some that sport a 120mm fan natively (Thermalright XP-120, Zalman 7700). They allow for quiet cooling even when you o/c. I hope t...

1. You can use the thermalpad that comes on many HSFs. Thermal pads/paste are there to increase the heattransfer between CPU and HSF, running without it will only increase the CPU temps. I guess you could eventually run without it but your CPU temps would be rather high and with newer P4s you might ...

You would have to see which works best for YOUR setup/usage. Here are a few more links about that topic that should help: http://faq.storagereview.com/tiki-index.php?page=StripeSize http://www.winnetmag.com/Article/ArticleID/2797/2797.html http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/perf/raid/concepts/perfStripe...

That's the mobo I want to use in my next PC .... though I'll start with only one 6800GT and add a 2nd later ... whenever mobo and videocard will be available, sigh, they're the only two parts I can't buy yet. That combo seems to be a smart choice for those who're looking for high performance now wit...

I don't have a PSU from that company and I probably won't get one until I read some reviews or forum threads about it that are quite positive. Your current system wouldn't even stress a (quality) 300W PSU so no wonder the 500W can handle it. Even your future system won't really push it with one 6800...

An AGP is as fast as its PCI-e counterpart (if they run at same speeds). The PCI-e videocard slot is faster than an 8xAGP BUT most modern videocards have enough onboard memory to store all the data ... they only have to swap to systemmemory when you run very high res + FSAA and AF. If your current A...

Mozilla/Firefox has come a long way since I started using the Mozilla alphas sometime in 1999 and Firefox finally reached 1.0, yay :D Do you hate those annoying flash-ads everywhere? Try the Flashblock extension ;) It disables flash/shockwave and replaces them with a placeholder ... you can still cl...

My next system will be placed in this great case > http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-tj06.htm
Also one of the new "upside down and right side wrong" ones using the advantages of the new BTX standard. All reviews I saw are quite positive, silent and cool.

Another option would be CDex > http://www.cdex.n3.net/
or maybe EAC > http://www.exactaudiocopy.org/
Both are also freeware.

blade Very nice, especially the first one. It calculates ~ 420W with one 6800GT for my setup .... a second one would add another 105W according to their estimate but I think that's a tad bit too high since I've seen more accurate numbers at x-bit labs showing 65W under load when o/c'ed > http://www....
