Regarding the missing SCSI http://storagereview.com/articles/200401/20040126WD740GD_sp.html Overall, for non-server use, Western Digital's Raptor WD740GD is the fastest single hard disk one can buy regardless of spindle speed, interface, or price. The fact that it is so quiet, runs much cooler, and ...

I guess the 2.6GHz real speed is about as high as the current AMD dies will clock, so very lil headroom for the highend version ... but the lowend based on the same technology have some real headroom to eventually go that high too (see the 3000+ numbers).

Half Life 2 is just around the corner and my current hardware is 3 years old ... too old to enjoy that awesome game with all the eyeandy, heck, I haven't even played a newer shooter for over a year due to my hardware limitations. AMD Athlon64 3000+ 939 socket (seems to have some great o/c potential, at least anandtechs test reveals great potential) on a nforce3 board sounds like another good combo. EvilHorace, I'm in the same boat and with Half Life 2 just around the corner I certainly feel the urge to build a new machine. I...

I used bsplayer + media player classic for a while (mpc for .mkv encodes since bsplayer still doesn't have full matroska support) but I recently decided that one player is enough and kept mpc > http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... e_id=84358

The floppies read/write heads could've become mis-adjusted after some time ... I have one of those, it can only read floppies it formatted itself. You should try a floppy from your friend that he formatted in his machine, chances are high that your drive might refuse to read it and that would point ...
