Re: Corona Virus
We didn't see that back with H1N1/SARS. Yea, maybe if we had we wouldn't have had over a billion people infected or several hundred thousands die from H1N1. You know it's quite possible the world is trying not to repeat past experiences. My mom survived through H1N1, over a decade ago. Today, she w...

Re: Corona Virus
People are still panic buying. Around here they all go to Sam's Club. So at 9am I drive past Sam's and people are lined up AROUND THE BUILDING waiting to get in. I go to Target across the street for a few odds and ends, and there was no crowd and they had ample supplies, and a security gal to make ...

Re: Trump says he knew coronavirus was a pandemic 'long before' it was declared
I don't see the issue with calling it a Chinese virus or Wuhan virus. In the past, we have called other epidemics like Spanish Flu, Lime disease, Hong Kong Flu, etc. So I guess I didn't have Chinese food last night. It guess it was Asian American prepared food. ok, but is there anything you do have...

Not really, just means they won't be buying as much in the future. People don't suddenly shit more at home And they'll probably be rationing their food to make it last!FlyingPenguin wrote:Let em all buy stuff like crazy. That will help the retailers and stimulate the economy.

Re: Corona Virus
I'd like to know what people are going to do after this passes . the way people are buying toilet paper and cleaning supply's it reminds me of the y2k scare . when this is over they try to return the goods and find its non-returnable. just like when they go to the stores when they hear a storms pre...

Re: One of my Server HDDs died today. Order two WD Blacks
Gee, remember when ALL drives had 5 year warranties? What happened to that. Yeah, I was going to go for an HGST drive that Backblaze gives good stats on in it's HDD report, but they weren't available from Prime and I didn't want to wait a week. Most of the drives in my unraid are HGST that have 5 y...

Re: Who control the main tv in your home ?
There's some stuff the wife watches that I don't, but usually she watches it when I'm either working or busy doing stuff in the house. Otherwise we have very similar tastes, so we watch a lot of shows/movies together.

Wow that is a long time - 15 years. I started with them right after AT&T bought them, and they were promoting packages for direct TV. So I signed up since it was a good deal. I do have Amazon Prime, and NetFlix. We just got a Fire Stick to use but haven't installed it yet. I rather not use an a...

Re: Cord Cutting???
I have DirecTV also and yea they are expensive if you haven't been with them a long time. I pay like $150, but have been with them for like 15 years. I also watch a lot on streaming devices. I think AT&T might end up selling DirecTV in the near future, they are losing tons of customers a month. ...

Re: Password Security
Yes, Last Pass is safe and secure ASSUMING you have a strong master password. Lastpass never has your passwords. They encrypt and decrypt them with your master password locally. All that's stored in the cloud is an encrypted blob no one can read without the master password. It's a good solution for...

Re: how large is your biggest tv ?
Had to buy a new TV for the family room after our remodel and I was on the wall between OLED or LED. After reading about some issues with burn-in, I decided to stick with LED.

Depends, do you consider a projector a TV? If so, 110", if not 65"
