From what I've heard, this is a very flawed benchmark, especially with the HD numbers and the variation between ATA/66/100/133, which in actuality causes very little performance difference.

Yeah there are going to be problems with every chipset. Personally I've had good luck with Via, but that isn't true for all.

It turns out I'm an idiot, in case any of you need to be reminded. I put the DVD sound connector into the internal speaker pins instead of putting it into the soundcard. The cord melted and burned and charred the bottom of the case. It runs fine now that I sorted out the wires, but I feel just a lit...
