Yeah, I was freaking out when all the computers at my work couldn't do IE, but I found out at [H]ard OCP about a workaround that worked fine. That was pretty stupid of MS.

Yeah, for that price, I wouldn't mess with a mod anyhow. However, being the person I am, I'd still probably try to mod one. I did that myself once & it worked great on a 1.2 celeron. I was able to overclock it to 1.5ghz on a BX chipset motherboard. Way beyond what they were ever intended for. Th...

I did just remember that the 1200mhz parts are the Tualatin parts that were a bit picky about the board they were in (440BX didn't actually support it officially) & thus need a mod like this: http://digilander.libero.it/grandecigno/Tua_BX_41.htm But the good news that I also remembered was that ...

Most of what pisses me off in Vista is that things are named differently or moved around FOR NO GOOD REASON.
Yup, that pretty much sums it up for me. It's now harder to use than it was. How's that progress.

I don't think it's worth the trouble myself, but I tend to have a pile of fans lying around.

Those are pretty rare, you may be able to get a 1.2 133mhz chip or something & underclock it to 1ghz & 100mhz.

I've had fine luck with USPS to Canada so far, but I tend to trust FedEX. Certainly USPS is cheaper & that may allow you to option the heck out of it (insurance, tracking, delivery conf.).

I remember the first time I ran FarCry. I had a 2.4 Ghz pentium 4, 512 RAM and a ATI 8500LE. Each level took an excruciating amount of time to load and I was only able to play 800 x 600 max. It was your 8500LE that was keeping you back. I had a Radeon 9800SE at the time & it ran smooth as silk ...

Actually, I can't remember where, I heard that it ended up not being the storage device, but the network that they were using that was blocking the files (the firewall or router or something).

Yeah, I tried it on two different machines. Mine (E4300 o/c'd to 3ghz with 2gig ram & 7900GS o/c'd too), which was just barely able to do 1024x768 with medium settings with studdering on occasion. My friends (Athlon 6000+ x2, 2gb ram, & Radeon 3850 o/c'd) was able to do medium settings with ...

I believe that movie rentals will entirely be gone. There will only be streaming video. It's a tough one for cars, but I bet we'll still be stuck with gasoline unless some major restructuring happens (goverment enforced). I think that cell phones will partially replace computers in communications. M...
