I think you're all missing the point - it's a public HIGH SCHOOL. There are dress codes.

She wants to wear that that at the mall or on the street then it's her business. The principle is certainly entitled to enforce a dress code in the school.

Any way to bypass the damn intros in BF1942?

Trying to get into this game now that I have a faster system and it actually SEEMS to run smoother. Just annoying as hell to have to wait for the two promo intros and then hit ESC to bypass the movie, and then get another promo. It get's tedious. ALSO is there any No-CD patch available that allows y...

NERO? Nero doesn't do captures, unless you have some VERY different version of Nero.

Nero's just a burner.

If you want an all-in one capture/burner then look into MyDVD or Ulead Video Studio. Both good apps.

Nice one! I've seen lots of different MSN Messenger removal techniques, but they all involved multiple steps and seemed awkward/risky. I tried your method on a couple of test systems here. VERY nice, it's GONE :) Damn crap is like a virus. I'll save that one in my bag of tricks for my clients. I usu...

As I said, from all reports they're allowing you to install on at least two different systems - they're unofficially allowing two to keep people with a laptop and desktop happy. Of course policies change, and OFFICIALLY it's still supposed to be one license per machine. You have nothing to lose by t...

If I understand you, whenever you turn off the monitor it forgets it's video position settings? That has nothing to do with drivers - the monitor is defective. There's some memory in the monitor that remembers the settings when the power is turned off. I have a KDS XFlat 19" myself - nice monit...

Anyone playing Planetside?

I was looking forward to this game for a while, but now that I've read a lot of reports on newgroups, it doesn't sound like much fun. I hear it's plagued with pugs and LOTS of lag. I realize the game is new, but I'm having a hard enough time trying to convince myself to pay MONTHLY for ANY game, muc...

Yes RAW AVI (no compression) is best quality. HUGE files. Ideal for professional editing.

However most editors today will do decent editing with MPEG2 - good enough for home use.

I capture to AVIs when it's something important I have to edit, but I stick with MPEG2 if it's just family videos.

Visiontek is good about that. I've called or emailed several times and they sent out a whole new fan and heatsink. I never bother with the heatsink - I just swap the fans. Trouble is those POS Visiontek fans don't last long. Last time it happened on my GF3 I just put a 486 fan on it and it's held up...

You can't overcharge/overheat a modern laptop battery. Charging circuits are more sophisticated now and batteries have "brains".
