Re: the 50 inch tv just died .

I had a Sony with a decent Sony sound bar, but the damn thing would not work 100% with the Samsung TV, so I had to shell out $ for a Samsung sound bar. Bastards!

Re: this is kind of sad !

LOL same here. I retired in May 2020, and the wife retired in 2015. I actually retired 1 year earlier than I wanted, but at the height of the Wu-Flu, I decided to retire in May when I turned 65. My only jobs now are doing things around the house, playing video games, and repairing laptops that I sel...

Re: Recommended Pre- built PC

So is Samsung going the route of their crappy house appliances like refrigerators? Don't ever by a frig from Samsung. We had one brand new that lasted only 2 years. We also had problems with their washing machine. Had to get a tech from Samsung to come out and install additional hardware to the top ...

Re: Recommended Pre- built PC

What model is the Samsung NVMe drive? Was it the same NVMe drive on other BSOD? I would try a different model or mfg.

Re: Recommended Pre- built PC

You can check your HD with this free utility: https://macrorit.com/disk-surface-test/ ... -test.html

I use it to check for bad sectors of a drive. It even works if you have your HD on a USB connection. You can also use the Windows one as an admin C prompt: chkdsk /r

Re: Look what came out of MS on 9/20/23

Here is the workaround. I've already used it twice on some Dell laptops that only had Windows 7.

Re: Finally upgraded my phone

Is there any way to hide the updates you don't want to install or upgrade? On my old Samsung S9, I always had about 10 updates that I never upgraded, but there was no way to hide them. You mentioned that you can reinstall an older version of an app that you have a backup of. I did not know that was ...

Re: Finally upgraded my phone

After I got home and connected to WIFI, I had almost 30 updates. I don't update everything listed, so I have about 20 left that I'm not updating. I have no use for AI Wallpaper as an example.

Finally upgraded my phone

From a Samsung S9 to a Google Pixel 8 Pro.

I had a small challenge in moving my music files over because they were stored on the micro card in the Samsung phone. I had to connect my S9 to my PC and copy the files off the micro card to the PC. Then connect the Pixel to the PC and copy them over.

Re: Testing CMOS Batteries CR2032

I still have the battery, and what I did was to test it again with the Fluke DMM while I watch the readings. They continue to decrease while I was testing it. So I'll have to remember this next time when checking them. If they start to drop in voltage, they probably need to be replaced.

Testing CMOS Batteries CR2032

This is puzzling to me. I bought 2 used Dell laptops cheap because when powered on, the Dell logo would briefly be displayed and then the laptop would shot off. After I disassemble the laptop, one of the checks I do is the CMOS battery using a Fluke DMM. The CMOS battery shows 2.9 volts. So I contin...
