Must be natural, eh :P

Been trying to figure this out. I *think I have it narrowed down to where it says the "/customavatars must be readable AND writeable by your web server to chmod 0777". Just did that so 'maybe it's is working now? I had no clue what that was or meant till I finally found out what it is.

Avatars are enabled everywhere I looked. And I wasn't justlookin, I looked everywhere. :d

I'm far from being an expert on this stuff, but me b trying. Weird that some avatars work while others don't. Those garbled ones may need to be re uploaded.

Your getting warm Blade. All the options are back in the User CP, but they just don't work. Can't save Avatar or Signature yet. :s cratch
Gotta be the uploads are pointing to the old server yet. Gotta edit the php files on the new server. Finding them is the trick.

PS Just posted and Sig worked, but sig pic doesn't.

Since vbb had to be installed fresh, everything was reset to default settings. The last 14 months were lost including any changes, new members, etc.. made during that time. :( And obviously avatars and sigs. Which, I think, explains why some work and some don't.

.php is tricky. I learned to make a backup first before any changes. Any extra space or letter missing or added, it's all fubared.

Avatar upload just worked for me with web upload. I used Image Shack. Still won't upload from puter tho. Something wrong with storage location on server. Has to be.

Ditto. Just uploaded mine from a URL just fine, but I get an "Upload Failed" error when trying to upload it from the drive.

No biggy, anyone here is likely to be l33t enough to deal with it.

New members can use ImageShack to upload Avatars and Pics to, from their hard drives. It's free and pretty user friendly. Takes only a minute to register and your stuff stays there for ever it seems. Found out it will do animated gifs too.
