Bizzball

Post by blade »

Does anyone really care about baseball anymore? Or maybe it is "Bizz"ball because it's so money motivated and guided.

I use to be a big baseball fan but the last few labor strikes have lessened my interest. Then consider how rich teams like the yankmees usually win the series because they have the most moola and can spend more to get players like giambi from poor small-market teams like the a's.

Money talks, but this is rediculous. They need a cap system similar to the NBA or even the NFL to help make things more even so all teams have a fair chance, and to keep fans interested. And now here they are again talking about another labor strike.

Since the last strike I've stopped watching baseball all except for maybe some of the world series games and never watch any regular season games like I use too and I use to watch a lot. From the strikes to the greed the players show and how many are such a spoiled brat, it's difficult to get interested.

Bravesball has been awesome this year ! It's not like they are playing to collect a paycheck ... it's more like they are playing to WIN!!!!!!!!!!!! 9 games out in front of their division. Unions suck ... and should be banned :)

I use to watch the Braves every chance I got, but the desire just isn't there anymore. Glad they are doing well though. :)

I've never been much for baseball but i'll watch the Mariners play if there's nothin' else on TV... BigC can keep Ken "The Cry baby" Griffy Jr though :D I've always been a major NBA fan up until the last few years. With all the rediculous contracts and all the ghetto rats bring the attitude into the league i just lost all interest in it.. And who wants to see the LA Fakers win everything anyways... God i've always hated them with a passion :D

A pox on both their houses

A couple articles in the Washington Post about the upcoming strike.

The Strike That Will Kill Baseball
As All-Stars Gather, So Will Clouds

Both sides are intent on killing the Golden Goose. These ingrates only think of themselves and assume the fans will keep coming back for more. These greedy bastards take the fans for suckers.

Add to that many players are taking steroids cheapening the game and small market teams can't compete with the big teams and its understandable why everyone is tuning out.

salary caps suck. everyone is allowed to buy the players they want. its a lot more than money. the mets have a potentially great squad, but some guys underperform. give the yanks some credit. go pirates!

Did you watch Selig's comments after the game? He was incredibly whiny and he had his arms crossed the entire time. I can't stand the guy and would love to see him go.
