I'm an ex-abuser.

Used to do all kinds of fun things. My favorite was swapping out the caps on motherboards and making changes to the voltage regulation(things that SHOULD have been done by the maker in some cases).

Lit a V5 5500 on fire cause i wouldn't display a mode I wanted once, redid some of the contacs a week later and it still worked....smelled terrible though. Another 5500 is in the woods somewere behind my house(vidman knows about that one).

Out of cheapness I never bought a watercooling setup, so i decided to run a line from the air compressor(250gallon) into the computer room, rig'd up an adjustable outlet over the heatsink. I figure i had maybe 4000cfm? I had got a slotA 1ghz athlon before they were availible outside of OEM's with a huge(almost 3 times the size of the slotA athlon cartridge) OEM heatsink. Using the compressor i almost made it to 1.2ghz. It was short lived due to the noise and the "dew" that came with the compressed air.

Many stories, but that was in my youth. I no longer do such things :D . Wish i had a digital camera.

Besides, the name is cool :)

If you consider increasing the fsb and multiplier setting as well as tweaking the memory and video clock speeds as "abuse", then I'm guilty.

Though I prefer to look at it as, maximizing the return on my investments. ;)

the only abusive things Ive done to my computers were

-cut 2 blowholes on a server case
-cut out the obstrutive basic grills on back of a case
-installed aol on another system

I am about to do some more abuse though......very soon

-gonna install a window
-gonna install a cold cathode, with switch on front of case

I am still thinking about installing a glo-wire into my keyboard and I want to put a 4" cold cathode or glo-wire in my ps2 and cut out some holes
Gone for good. But never say never

I run a P3 700E. Needless to say, I'm not much of an abuser.
