So the guy is banned from public transit. Something tells me he was probably already banned from owning a firearm too.
I'm guessing if he gets out, he'll still do both again.

His life should be ending - public hanging. This country has gotten so soft on crime, especially when using a gun and killing someone. Bummer the bus driver got fired for defending himself.

I can understand him getting fired if he knew there was a rule against carrying, but I wouldn't do that job in a major city without a gun. Too many wack jobs around.

Now, that said, as a concealed carry permit holder, I have to say he should have just let the asshole off before it escalated (there was a long arguement before the perp drew a gun). I was trained to de-escalate and avoid putting bystanders at risk. The driver was not entirely in the right. His bullets could have easily struck someone passing by on the street (at no time in that video do I see other passengers at risk except from glass fragments or an unlikely ricochet).
