well, while to each his/her own, I have found that some jobs will make you remove the tongue piercing (if they ever notice it that is). I personally have no problem with piercings, while I only have one ear (pretty standard for a man), I have wanted to get the second on the same ear too (you know, so I don't drift to the "other" side). and maybe others (eyebrow, etc), I haven't ever considered getting one around my mouth. but my brother got his lip pierced and is fine with it. (he couldn't get his tongue pierced because of the shape of it. go figure). piercings can always be removed and can heal up, while tattoos are a little more permanant, many have found piercings (in unique places) can be...........interesting.
I personally am wondering how someone can pierce somethings below the neck. (and I ain't talkin' belly button!
) It seems like too much pain, but if they enjoy it and it's fun, go for it. :up

Zyph, while i was in the waiting room, I was talking to some random girl who was getting her ear done. we were chatting about piercing and she says "you gotta see this", runs up to the counter, and grabs a picture book. It's a book of camera pictures of piercings they will do. Flipping through is all the standard stuff, ears, eyebrows, lips, tongue, etc.. till we get to the end of the book, and oh lord, if I didn't start seeing pics of Mr. Happy with piercings! ARG, course she is just laughing her ass off at me!
Guys, that is something you never really want to see, shudder!

i dont know about you people but i think toungue rings are cool except for a few follow factors
1. if you smoke it increases the chance of cancer because it is a open cut in your tounque
2. those big needle thing freak me out
3. id be afraid it would fall out and me swallow it
4. if the persont that does it ... does the peircing in the wrong spot ...... wellll your gonna have some toungue troubles like a dead toungue
but other then that i think they are cool
oh and who ever asked if it is reversible ... yes it is all it is is a open cut in your skin and the rod is just keeping it from closeing .. as soon as you take it out .. it will take a few days but it will heal back up

Tongue piercings are about the safest 'body art' you can do. Why?
1. It heals quickly
2. It heals completely - no sign that it was ever there
3. It won't keep you from getting hired.
An employer isn't likely to notice your tongue stud, unless you go to an interview right afterwards and you still have a lisp. An employer WILL notice metal hanging off of your face, and they WILL NOT hire you because of it. Just a fact of life.
But if the person piercing your tongue screws up, you can be seriously damaged, or so I have heard.

One of the piercings I am a little freaked out about is a "prince Albert". That's just wrong in my book.
(I read somewhere that certian places on "mr happy" will HELP, while others just get in the way. If you can put up with the initial pain that is!)
I want to get my 2nd piercing in what many refer to as the "cartilige" or the upper part of the ear. But I can't do anything until I get a more permanant job......this one doesn't even let me keep the ring in my ear (which I have had for more than 8 years).
I don't like the idea of just getting a second piercing beside the one that's already there, it looks odd to me. Anyone know if getting the cartilige piecered on the OTHER ear is ok......or is is basically mean the same thing as getting a regular piercing? (or as long as you have more in the one ear than the other, you're fine?)

for me, I would hope that you are extremmely talented with your tongue, but I sure can't imagine kissing anyone with their tongue pierced. I have a hard time dealing with those people at work with their tongues pierced. It is tough to talk to them with that stud shining with every word. Then there are those that stick their tongue out and play with the dang thing ,for advertising I guess, makes me want to have a violent reaction. Hope you have good luck with it, but it will cut down some of your choices in the dating arena . Someone will have to get past the "third eye" sydrone before they even get a chance to know you are a good person
Re: I pierced my Tongue!
how many "girls" (as you put it) do you kiss a week? are you a pimp? player? you doggy dog you! ahwww jill is always there for youOriginally posted by Phjorg
Just got it done 30min ago! it feels so strange having this metal rod in my mouth in the way of everything. not to mention it's pretty dam sore too.swelling supposed to go down after 3 days. The WORST part of it is no drinking or kissing/etc girls for 3 weeks.
