MSNBC did a bit a few minutes ago on the cell phone calls. I had to turn it off, I just couldnt watch it. The pain and anguish these people and their families must of felt is just indescribable. I just can't imagine making a last phone call to my wife. Its just so sad, its beyond any words. I hope all those innocent people who did lose thier lives are at peace. May God grant thier families the strength to pull through this and ease thier pain. I hope those evil bastards rot in the deepest depths of hell.

Striking a macabre note, a new album cover by hip-hop band The Coup -- whose music has a strong anti-capitalist bent -- had until recently depicted the World Trade Center exploding, the band's label said Wednesday.

``We changed the artwork as soon as we saw what had happened,'' said Daria Kelly, director of sales for 75 Ark, the band's label.

Kelly said the picture, which eerily shows group member ''Boots'' Riley holding a detonator in front of the exploding towers, was yanked from the San Francisco-based company's Web site at (http://www.75ark.com) by 9:30 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, hours after two hijacked airliners actually smashed into the World Trade Center's twin towers and brought them down, possibly causing thousands of deaths.

Kelly said the artwork was done about two months ago for the band's upcoming album, ``Party Music,'' which features a single called ``5 Million Ways to Kill a CEO'' and is due to hit stores on November 6.

``We were going to print them this week. Thank goodness we hadn't yet printed them,'' she said, adding that the new album cover would probably just bear the band's logo.

While the label quickly moved to delete the image -- which shows explosions in the towers at about the same level as the actual blasts -- the picture has begun to circulate on the Internet and generate a lot of reaction.

It was featured Wednesday on lifestyle-culture Web site at (http://www.ammocity.com) accompanied by the following message: ''The album cover for hip-hop group 'The Coup' manages to even outweird the quotes from Nostradamus doing the email rounds today.''

Kelly said she had not received any e-mails about the cover, noting it hadn't been circulated by the label very much.

``We just started press about a month ago,'' she said describing the Oakland, Calif-band's music as focusing on the ''destruction of corporate America.''

The band, considered among the more overtly political rap bands, was formed in the early 1990s. Lead rapper/producer Boots Riley, whose real name is Raymond Riley, was involved in political activism before becoming a musician, according to music industry sources.

Released in 1993, the Coup's debut album ``Kill My Landlord'' was a highly charged blend of leftist resistance  and 70s funk, which received wide critical praise.

Just running my cakehole here:

1. The response we take against the offending countries/parties is going to be well thought out and will be well researched, we are not going to run in without proof on this. When we do act we are going to use a coalition to beat the living hell out of someone.

2. Someone made a good point about what the hell we can do to some of these people, they live in hell now as it is. If the people who make up the Taliban are found to be the culprits I think we will see some sniper action.

3. Airport security will now be impressive. We were talking today about how some airports allow you to walk to the gate without a ticket and carry a knife as long as its under 4". Those two things are already going to stop. I think you will once again see undercover-armed people on flights, I just hope they are well trained.

4. Those gas stations/ companies that began to price gouge should be shut down right now, that's pathetic.

5. The intelligence community failed us here. They are fixing to get a big blank check, I just hope they were doing all they could with all they had before this.

6. I don't know if there is a god either, but I do wonder how everyone else feels about GW's religious attitudes? Does it make you feel better that he appears to be a religious person? Do you believe him or is he just playing for the crowd?

7. I love my country, this hurts me, I am glad to see all you stand up and say the same, just remember how you feel now and try and keep that feeling of pride going all year round. Kind of like trying to be as kind as Christmastime all year round.

8. My condolences to all who have lost a family member or friend may your pain dull soon.

Take care all

He was religus b4 he became president why shuld he change. I thin it is a good thing. it needs to be more wide spread. like when the outlawed the prayers B4 a highschool football games among other things. it is pathetic that the Masses have to bow to the loud mouth few. I think there is great opertunitity for our country to grow after this horific tragitity and rebuild upon it Origonal morals. GOD Bless america and its people...and to you non god beliving...I honstly dont care. it is MY country to and I think religon is a good thing and should not be Supressed by the government.

I have heard some extremely disturbing things about a minority of my own people. There have been mosques and Islamic community centers being defaced and individuals threatened by some of our homegrown hatemongers. This is my response to these individuals.
I am an American. This, in a truer sense than many others. I was born on this land. Uncountable generations of my family were here long before Europeans arrived and either cheated or simply took what they wanted. This is past. All of the people who live here are now my people. It matters not that they be of European descent or other. It matters not that many were born elsewhere and chose to come here to live their lives. They are all my people, my extended family. When I was 17 yrs old, I enlisted in a branch of our military service. I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of my nation and to defend her from all enemies.. foreign and domestic. All people have the right to feel and think and speak as they please. I would still today take up arms to defend someones god given right to hate me if he/she so chooses. But, I will also take up arms to defend and security the safety of all my people. You may hate all you want. But if you attempt to infringe on the rights of my fellow countrymen and family ( read as the innocent Islamic peoples or anyone else here) then I will, and many I know and served with WILL bear arms against you.

I am sorry for such harsh words, but these are this traditionals feelings.

Now that said, a number of people have stated that our inteligence community failed us. This isn't really true. For many years we have allowed, and in some cases demanded, that politicians gut our military and inteligence gathering organs. Yes, we have the best and most sophisticated satelite surveilance in the world, but these are only pictures ,and many, hours old. In order to secure our saftey we have to have assets in place, on the ground in areas of the world we consider hot spots. We will never be able to pre-empt this type of heinous atrocity without the foreknowledge of what people are saying, feeling, thinking and ultimately planning. In the past we alowwed our CIA to do things we all knew to be immoral, wrong, illegal, whatever words you want to use to describe it. So, under the outrage of the public oppinion our government pulled the teeth of what was once the premier intelignce organization in the world. We were wrong. Yes, we needed to oversee things. Yes, we needed some tighter restraints on the independent power the CIA was given to weild. But instead we almost shut them down. In the world veiw inteligence community, we are but a shadow of our former selves. For the sake of our people and the general security of our nation, we NEED information, and of the most intimate kind.

Good post LutaWicasa. I feel for the people who must suffer attacks just cause of where they were once from... It's a tragic scapegoat and a true sign of ignorance... Yet I also sympathize with the complete feeling of helplessness... If it were a countries declaration of war then we could have a target... But foreign terrorizm is tough to pinpoint or attack directly... how would you attack what has no physical location... But truely, I hope that something will come as retribution...

Onto a more political analisist, I remember reading something that the americian consitution gives you many rights of an individual. the freedom of speech, religion, press, etc... however, these rights are only free so far as they do not infringe upon the rights of others. the moment you do that (ie attacks born of racism) you forfit your rights as an americian and should no longer consider yourself a true member of your country as you just voilated the principles of which it stands... something to think about...

I can't believe that so many people are worried about being politically correct when thousands of your patriots are lying dead and injured. You've been brainwashed if you ask me. As usual, ANY time discussion is introduced that may hurt some minorities feelings, it is immediately branded as racism. Doesn't it bother anybody that these hi-jackers entered our country, attended our flying schools and used our planes filled with terrified passengers to kill thousands of innocent people?

Yes, it more than bothers me.

It also bothers me that you think spreading hate towards millions of people world wide is ok. It is not simply "political correctness", as you say. It is preventing unecessary hate toward people who have nothing to do with this. If anything, you have been brainwashed into thinking discrimination is ok.

I would like to make my feeling clear on this. I do not hold all people of any race or religion responsable for the acts of others. That being said tho if I was a member of a group that took part in acts that I did not agree with I would do one of two things 1) Do everything in my power to exile those people from the group or 2) Denounce the group and distance my self from them . Now obviously you can not do that when we are talking about your race. However when you are talking about religion you sure can. Lets face it guilt by association is real and applies to just about every thing else in our world. If you hang with dopers it is pretty safe to assume that you use or at least approve of dope use. It is high time that people take responsability for their actions are are held accountable for them.

I for one am very tired of people pointing their fingers and screaming RACISUM. I do not defend racisum but it is a very real part of life. I personally try not to harbor ill feeling toward any people yet it takes effort many times. I am Hispanic and American Indian however I don't look it and mine name does not reflect it. I live in an area where the Hispanics are the majority and beleive me the Hispanics are far more racist toward me then I ever have been towards them. My point is that rasisum goes both ways and while it can be very ugly and even unlawful when carried to the extreme it is a part of life and probably always will be. To me peoples actions speak much louder than their words or the color of their skin. The actions of the terrorist speaks volumes about who and what they are and I have to be very suspect to anyone who defends them, associates with them. or tries to justify their actions

Scavengering scum!

EBay Cancels Auctions of Attack-Related Items
http://www.latimes.com/news/printeditio ... -a_section

"Online auctioneer EBay Inc. canceled all sales of debris and memorabilia tied to the World Trade Center attack after more than 180 items were put up for bid within hours of the calamity.

Scavengers on Tuesday offered such items as videotape footage of the towers collapsing, photos of the doomed plane slamming into the buildings and colorful promotional posters of a complete New York skyline.

EBay officials said they had expected such auctions to occur, and immediately began searching--and blocking--all sales once news of the tragedy hit. "There have been a number of events, whether the passing of Joe DiMaggio or Charles Schulz, where people have done the same thing," EBay spokesman Kevin Pursglove said. "But clearly, we've never been through a situation like this."

The crisis sparked a morbid shopping spree among some New Yorkers and tourists, who scoured the broken glass and dust-covered concrete that fills the New York financial district.

Darren Jacobs sobbed as he stood down the street from the carcass of the World Trade Center's north tower, where several of his friends worked at a law firm. Rubbing the dust and tears from his eyes, he watched in shock as dozens of people snapped photographs of the devastation and snatched chunks of rubble.

"I didn't understand what they were doing until I asked one man," said Jacobs, 42, a financial analyst. "He told me that he wanted to sell the stuff on EBay. I couldn't believe it. It made me so angry, I slugged him."

The scavenger wasn't alone. At a Duane Reade drugstore in Chinatown north of the financial district, shoppers wanting to capture the sight of the burning buildings rushed to buy cameras. Paperweights and postcards featuring the World Trade Center's twin towers were in hot demand."

EXACTLY... that is why both poop and kazar have met with so much resistance here in this thread. Not because anyone here is racist against them or their people.. but because they bust in and try to give excuses as to why the palestinians(or justify their actions... but more the former) for dancing in the streets over our peoples deaths. Or that what just happened here is nothing compared to terrorist acts else where! And don't try to deny you did either....
clip of poop's statement
The Palestinians are dancing because of what our government has done to them. We helped CREATE Israel. We help defend it, and sell it our technology and weapons. We also support Israel very strongly. Israel continually persecutes Palestinians. I have heard that Palestinians living in Israeli controlled territory have to have different license plates on their cars and IDs proclaiming them Palestinians. This is so Israelis can persecute them. Our government has suported Israel despite their horrendous actions.
clip of zakar's statement
You act as though our country is the only one suffering...you are truly showing your ignorance and stupidity. What happened today is but a mere speck of what the rest of the world knows as horrific.
Now tell me of a terrorist act thats happened elsewhere where 30,000+ people died in it?? All in one terrible act of cowardice... where else have you seen 30,000+ people get killed all in one shot, $20 billion+ worth of damage all in one shot.. tell us where else something has happened to make this just a mere spec...

You know what I say to both of you? I say FVCK YOU! FVCK you both for trying to even REMOTELY justify arabic hatred towards me or trying to belittle what just happened two days ago in NY and DC and PA.

Amen Kakarot!

poop. it just amazes me that all you can do is bad mouth others for using so called racial names when we need to vent over these cowardlly acts. Then trying to rationalize the reasons the palastines dancing and celebrating, damn man. Where the fvck is your compassion here. They can all go to helll and die horrible deaths and I wish we had dropped incindiary bombs on them as they danced and watched them burn to death. I really would love seeing that.

Yes Israel hates them and is it any wonder why? They clearly do not care for human life and think only they are the only ones important. What about all the atrocities they have bestowed upon Israel? Of course you overlook the reasons why Israel hates them and now they are our mortal enemy forever.

Dammit guys, you who are bad mouthing others for using "racial" names what the hell is wrong with you. You have your priorities all screwed up. Consider the situation here and why many feel this way. In the end rational thinking will prevail but focusing on mere words over this tragedy is very lame and very very cold hearted.
