Cool 2 more work units and I make 300 still can't figure out why it takes me so long to complete a unit I have a p3 600@800 and it is taking about 9-10 hours per unit. I am running version 2.04 is there a different version I should be running?

hey dadx2mj[/] Are you running the graphical version? And if so are you running it as the screen saver? If so, turn it off, and configure it to run all the time, minimized. I have found that running seti as the screen saver would result in packets taking 20-30 hours on my p2-400. Running minimized all the time, I get between 10-15 hours!

the only real way to get seti to run faster is to use one the 3.0 command line version.

My duron @ 1 gig cranks one out in about 4:35. This is using the WinNT command line version 3.0. The WinNT command line version is much faster than the graphical win9x version, and it works fine in anything above windows 95.

My old P3 450@600 would do a work unit in about 6 hours. I also have a tbird running at 850 that would do a work unit in about 4:55. Not much slower than the duron running 150MHz faster, but that 20 minutes is why the tbird is sitting on my desk now.
