Tax relief...

Post by FlyingPenguin »

Just got my notification of the impending receipt of my $300 George W. Bush
payolla... ahem... I mean tax break.

Oh, wow, that 300 bucks is already burning a hole in my pocket. Whatever
shall I spend ALL THAT MONEY ON that will stimulate economic growth and an
upswing in the stock market?

A new CPU? A video card?

Hmmmm.... Guess I can always get a hooker.... :)

You know something else that burns my ass?

How much is the government spending on these notices to let us know our check is coming? Do I NEED a notice to let me know it's coming?

Sheesh. It's as assinine as ADVERTISING for the lottery.

You know, as much as I would have agreed with you about the cost of these mailings, if they don't send it out to you, not only do you know how much it is, but that it's coming. If they wouldn't have sent out those notes, then someone could take the check and you would have never known you should have gotten one. Plus this way, you know when to keep an eye on your mailbox.

I, also, am getting nothing.

My folks paid my car insurance, medical insurance, and my car was legally my dad's last year. So... he claimed me as a dependant for tax purposes. That means I get $0 back. Even though I made well over enough last year :(

I am finally on my own this year, but GW won't be bribing voters again for another 4 years.

Gentlemen this isn't payola or a bribe. This is people getting back their hard earned money. People like my sister and her new husband who can use this money to fix up their house. For things like a new kitchen floor, new stove and replacing the windows. If anyone else feels the need to make snide remarks and is that unhappy with their tax refund, then please send your tax refund here where it can put to good use.
