Just got it done 30min ago! it feels so strange having this metal rod in my mouth in the way of everything. not to mention it's pretty dam sore too. swelling supposed to go down after 3 days. The WORST part of it is no drinking or kissing/etc girls for 3 weeks.

Ummmm . . . to each there own. Personally I think it's disgusting.

lol, thanks for the flack, no need to criticize someone when you know little about it or him... i'm not a tatoo freak nor one of those obsessive pierce type dudes... I'm pretty much a hardworking cleancut student just growing up... as for my motivation; frankly I got it cause i'm already dam good with anything I do with my lips/tongue (if ya catch my drift!) and want to try something new to see if I can be better! I've heard a lot about tongue studs and thought it might be fun! I researched it through my circle of pierced friends to find a good clean place, read about benifits, possible complications, etc! everything looked good, I understood the risks, and away i went! And so far I think i'm gonna like it!

As for your question TheManiacal1, the tongue is a very fast healing part of the body, so just pull the stud out, and boom, it's healed... also tough to get infected if you follow good cleaning procedure. (same risk as if you get your wisdom teeth pulled n stuff) Naturally if you get a butcher job, there could be some probs like loss of feeling, taste, busted artery, etc! which is why you need to research and find a place that know's what they're doing and won't hurt ya!

Hmmmm, to each his/her own I guess but I like my tongue and other parts in "as is" condition. My son periodically pierces his eyebrow even though I'm against the idea.

I see so many pierced and tattooed people at the bars and I KNOW that some of these folks aren't thinking beyond the immediate trendiness and fashion statement. I want to say to them, "Did you ever consider that, in a few years, you may get tired of working at a record store or a car wash and may want to get a good job or rent a co-op and that one inch plug in your earlobe and the flame and dragon tattoo that runs up your neck to your ears may be an impediment? This is a really bad picture of her (she's actually quite striking in person), but she's an old friend of the g/f's and she just got that MASSIVE chest tattoo. Her husband's in a punk band and has the usual Social D. tattoo look and she had plenty of ink herself, but she showed up with this monstrosity and we just stared and wondered, "WTF?"

The g/f alsohad a friend back in the day who (according to her) had a GREAT rack and then got "DISGUST" (a punk band) tattooed across her t*ts in big Olde English type, like she was in Sublime or something. How is she gonna explain that to her dates?

My daughter has her lip done and her friends all have various piercings.. each to their own I guess but I'm quite fond of my tongue as it is thank you very much.. that just sounds soooo painful !!!





As a side note, when daughter got her lip done, she'd given me her paycheck to cash and I hadn't hit the bank yet,I'm sitting there making a personal check and all of a sudden it hit's me what this joint is called, there's no way I'm writing a check out to a place called the House of Pain

I thought only girls had their tongue pierced for a stud because it suppose to improve, umm improve.....well you figure it out.

Dirk, i agree with you 100% ya know... cept the part of accusing me of being a lemming, but whatever, i can't change the way you think... And Blade, guys can do it as well, and girls view it the same way guys do! just gotta wait 3 weeks to see! I was talking with the guy who pierced me (one f-ed up dood) and we were talking about girls and piercing. Poor bastard, he met his girlfriend just a few days after getting his lip pierced. Which ment for him no kissing/anything for 8 weeks! The dude lasted 6 though, so i'll give him props, but that's still a crazy amount of time, couldn't imagine that! She musta saw something that I couldn't possibley see (it wasn't looks, lol!) to wait it out that long...

Anyway, after a full night in bed it feels a lot better. no more dull pain and the swelling doesn't look very bad at all.. so i'm gonna go and try to see if eating is possible!
