Welcome to the First-Ever-(As-Far-As-I-Know)-Neverending-Rant-Thread :)

The purpose of this thread is to let you vent your long-winded opinion about any issue under the sun. Just a few quick, easy, simple, common-sense rules:

1) Must be about anything under the sun EXCEPT another PCA member.
2) Should consist of at least 10 sentences (or in Greg's case, 10 fragments resembling sentences).
3) Try to back your opinion up with some sort of fact, or at least restate your opinion so many times that people have to assume that it is based on fact.
Last-but-not-least) Feel free to comment on someone else's rant....after you've had your own rant :)

So dem's da rules....let's rant!!!

MY RANT:

I am quite tired of the derogatory remarks made regarding a certain aspect of feminine anatomy, specifically the breasts. Why? It's not because I am a Christian (I am), or that I'm gay (I'm not), or that my parents taught me that it is bad to make reference to any part of a woman's body (they did) - it's because I have a fiance, and because I have a lot of respect for her and for her body. I just watched Vanilla Sky tonight (which, incidentally, made me miss my fiance like you wouldn't believe - she's living in Maryland this summer, while I'm stuck in KY, which is a whole other rant altogether), and the fact that Penelope Cruz's chest is exposed without much hesitation made me think first of my fiance, and then of what I've seen people talk about on various forums, including this one.

You see, I'm more of a sensitive guy - at least compared to most of the morons that I lived with in the dorm. No, I'm not a crybaby, nor am I a wuss. But I have strong sentiments regarding things I hold dear, especially my fiance. We are very close, and since we got engaged a week before school ended for the summer, our last week was a very wrenching and emotional one. And as you can probably surmise, the night before she left, she ended up showing me her breasts, and let me tell you, I am not the same for it! Perhaps it is something about having waited for the right girl to come along before I became involved in a relationship, perhaps it is simply from having grown so close to her, but whatever the reason, there is now nobody in this world that I see except for her. You could have all the beautiful hollywood celebs parading in front of my house in their birthday suits, but I wouldn't notice them anymore. Funny, this thing called love :)

Anyway, herein lies the rant. While it bothered me beforehand, now I become just short of incensed when I see people talking about "fun bags" and "boobies" and such. My first guess is that either they have never seen them except for porno pics, or they've seen them so much from sleeping around (or whatever) that they don't care anymore. To me, that is almost a sacrilege to my memories of my fiance from that night. I know from seeing her eyes that if you called them that when talking to a girl, you would instantly change from a decent man into a pathetic piece of trash in her eyes, and that you would also seriously undermine her self-confidence, assuming that had survived her teenage years. This is just one aspect of what is destroying society, in my opinion - the wanton recklessness with which other people are treated in effigy is affecting, through the eventual social adoption of that treatment, the very ways that people think about themselves.

Perhaps this has been an awkward rant for you to read. It's been an awkward one to write. But goshdarnitall, it disgusts me to see the way some people (men, obviously) treat women when they think there won't be a consequence. (Even at a conservative Christian college, the stuff you could hear echoing down the hall in the dorms was horrible.) But I feel that it has to be said, because sometimes the very people being verbally abused by this talk are too intimidated/crushed to say it themselves. And because I love my fiance, too, and feel something of an obligation to stand up in her defense. (Insert further justification here if you aren't satisfied.)

I know that my rant probably won't have the least effect on the way things are, but hey, rants aren't meant to change the world ;)

NEXT RANT!!!

Damn please tell us how you really feel about "breasts".... I haven't slept around at all... I've played with only a couple sets myself, and let me tell ya 36c's is all a man needs... DD's are WAY overrated... lol My girlfriend has a sense of humor and don't take things to heart. She knows me and know how i am. I call them boobs or boobies... I don't care for tits, just sounds darogatory(spelling lol) Everyone has words for things that they like and don't like. Maybe you've just been stuck in KY for too long :D Its actually cool you have some morals though... Very few younger people have any these days... I myself was like you, waited ended up marrying my first gf even though that was a big mistake. Live and learn though. To each their own, what one see's as ok another will find it offensive....

Well, as for terms regarding females and their body parts.......all I can suggest is that if you plan to live long in this world as a guy you might as well just learn to get use to hearing these terms as we males have probably invented more terms for their parts than what you'll ever see in any dictionary and some are really very amusing.
Most women never hear most of these terms either. There's times when I'll mention one of the new words heard to my wife and she'll usually say "I've never heard THAT before, where'd you hear that?
Seriously, I think every group of guys everywhere has many of their own unique terms for female body parts (usually the lower one) and one shouldn't be bothered by it too much UNLESS the term (if really bad) is being loosely applied to YOUR GF, wife, mom, or sister........that might be different depending on circumstances.

As for my rants...

Bad drivers. Here in Yahoo Carolina it seems around 80% of all drivers have a broken turn signal. But amazingly it sometimes works as they are in the turn. Following too closely, leaving bright lights on, cutting others off, in a hurry to pass you but then slow down after they are in front are other bad driving hobbots.

Then we have the rudeness at any stores or fast food places where most rarely say "thanks" but seem to if you are of their race.

Smokers who smoke in a non-smoking place like a restaurant or a theatre while only caring about their needs and not caring how their smoke bothers others. Speaking of theatres...idiots who talk too loud during a movie, leave their beeper or cell phone on and let them go off several times and sometimes even start talking need to be shot! :mad :D Then the other idiots who kick the chairs in front of them or place their feet on the front chairs.

Then we have some bringing their whining babies to a movie and while it cries non stop they still keep the baby in the movie, not caring about how it bothers others at all, just so they can see the movie.

People on cable assume everyone has cable so they think nothing of sending you a large file when you are on dial up, then use the lame excuse "you should get cable then" when you try and explain they should ask first before sending a large file.

"Inconsiderate" people I guess is my biggest pet peeve and rant. Common courtesy rarely exists.

As for boobies, I like to play basketball with em. :D

Seriously I can understand how you feel about how others like me talk about them but why be so serious. Sex is meant to be fun. I've yet to be around a girl who didn't like comments obout her breasteses, unless it was a comment about being too small. They do get jealous and feel inadequate if you look at another girl who has larger boobies. Even if tell them you only were looking at their hair or outfit. Although I'm not sure many ever bought that line.

Actually I prefer smaller ones anyway. Too large ones feels like limp jello.

hmm, I'm probably ticking you off about now eh. :D Sorry, I just don't take them seriously at all. I find other parts more interesting. :D But I do respect your moral thinking towards your gf. :) "Respect" is vital in any relationship.

Earthlink DSL...... sue me, I don't care. Paying $49.95 a month for a stupid high-speed connection that quits like clockwork every night at 9pm. Tech support tells me it will be fixed within 72 hours one time and the next time they say three to five days. Take my money and push me to the back and forget about me. How do they set the hook ? ? Simple, you cancel, then you owe $149. So if ya look to get Earthlink DSL, get out the vaseline before you bend over. They don't supply any in the install kit and if they did, it would probably have sand in it. :D

I have to go a long the same lines as Blade on this one. Stupid, unreasonable, inconsiderate, rude people really tick me off. (Blade sorry about sending you that big file the other day but if you only had cable... :D ) I also have a great dislike for people who are judgmental. They usually jump to some conclusion about someone and start slamming them without even taking the time to know the whole story or what someone is really about. Know it alls are another one. I got this guy down the street who got his first computer the other day and got hooked up on a cable modem. I asked him if he had anti virus software and a firewall. He went off on me telling me he knew all there was to know about computers and didn't need that stuff. LOL 2 weeks later he had a virus and was asking for my help as he put it "Not that I could not fix it but I know how you like computers and thought you might enjoy fixing it" Which brings me to people who try and blow smoke up my ass and tell me it is a good thing. Don't get me wrong for the most part I really enjoy people it is just certain idiots that get me going.

As for the boobs thing, hey if you feel it is disrespecting women and it works for you more power to ya. However to me there are much better things to get upset about than that. For the most part it is all done in fun and women do the same thing when talking about their body parts and mens too. Just guessing but the other night when you're lady showed you hers was that the first time?

quote from dadx2mj: "women do the same thing when talking about their body parts and mens too"

Exacamundo! I've been married for over 6 years now and when my wife and her friends get together you should hear how they talk, it's probably worse than men... :)

As for rants, most of you guys seem to have it covered, bad drivers, loud babies, smokers, inconsiderate people in general... gah!

Living in San Jose I am, naturally, a huge San Francisco Giants fan. Today I was watching the game against the Yankees and whitnessed what might be the stupidest rule in Baseball. It's called the Neighborhood Rule. It basically says that when the short stop is covering second base for a force out, they don't actually have to touch the bag, they only have to be "in the neighborhood". The whole purpose of the rule is so that the short stop and base-runner don't have a colision on the bag. It avoids injury. I think it's crap. In a game where split-second timing is everything it makes things much more interesting to see an infielder make an aggressive play knowing that they're about to be plowed over (or under). Plus, without having to actually touch the bag, they can get the ball off to first base faster for a double play. It's downright cheating. Bottom line.
