Well kinda . I got in my truck today and was driving down the road and felt something biting my leg . Look down and there were ants everywhere . They were crawling all over my console , floor ,me etc. My truck is only 3 months old and I keep it pretty clean . Then I noticed I had left a McDonalds bag on the floor of the truck from last night . The ants were feasting on the left over 1/4 pounder

But I still don't understand where they came from . Were they already in my truck , hiding , waiting on some crumbs ? Did they come with the 1/4 pounder ?

Oh well , rants over

they smelled that !/4 pounder from half a mile away

funny you mention critters crawlin' on ya. I just a second ago had a daddy long-leg crawl up my leg! I'm wonderin' where he came from. I felt somethin' tickling the hair on my leg and I look down to see a freakin' spider :| Took his ass and threw it outside...

I think ants would be worse though cause they are small and can get into places

Yeah , fireants are really bad . But these were what we call "piss-ants" . Some people call them "sugar-ants" . They're the little black ones that come take your food (or your truck) .

We started getting fire ants worse and worse every year....I talked to an exterminator and he said that the fire ants came from florida or south of NC and were working themselves north. I said "how?" and he said "they took I-95 North" and i said "yeah right " at first. The he explained more about it. So it could kinda happen, hitch-hiking fire ants? sounds logical.

If you havent already, get some of those ant baits from a hardware store and place them in your truck. I've been on a major anti-ant, anti-hornet binge lately, trying everything I can to get them out of my yard, house, etc. Havent seen any in my cars yet however.

While working at a autoshop in FL this summer doing bitch work i was mowing the lot and ran over something with the riding mower and it jammed the blade so i am kneeling down clearing the jam and i get a sharp pain on the side of my knee. I thought I had kneeled on a rock or something and I look down and my knee is 3 inches deep into a fire ant pile/hill/whatever you wanna call it. My leg was covered with fire ants. I had probally close to 100-150 bites on my leg. Each one swelled up and filled with puss. Those took about 2 weeks to go away, but about 10 minutes after I had gotten biten my leg started tingling and I got a little light headed, never underestimate the power of those little bastards.

Fire ants are the worst! I've still got marks from bites that were done over 10 years ago! Only good thing about cold weather is the ants can't take it. So you refrigerated types north of the Mason-Dixon should be safe. Be glad to send you some love bugs though

A colony of ants is like a well-deciplined army. They send out scouts who look for anything to eat, then when found they signal the others and soon they all are sharing the wealth and trying to bring much of the food back to their home.

Must be a few nests near where your car was and a scout found the booty.
