UPDATE 8/19/02
WesG was nice enough to host the pictures from the 2nd day for us. he's got 'em laidout all nice and stuff too. check 'em out here: ht ... m/~w.glass

tune in to page 3 and watch Greg picking his nose! :D

UPDATE 8/18/02
2nd day of the LAN went well; there were many interesting happenings.... although interesting may not be just the right word to describe them all. i was not able to make it out to the LAN today for its final day as i didn't roll out of bed until aroiund 1 in the afternoon... :P

to all those that came - glad you were all there; good to meet some of you and hope to see y'all next year!

Greg, Les, and Mike - thanks for setting up and hosting the event! we all owe these guys lunch or something. :D

Denny - thx for making all the cool buttons.

Briann & Cara - thx for playing with puppy. she slept REALLY well last night. :D

i'm currently looking for someone or something to help me resize the images from day 2 of the event. i've got around 100 or so JPGs that need to be all resized down to 1024x768. email me if you're volunteering... :)

here are just a few oddities from the 2nd day include these captured on video... these aspiring Jedi Padawans seem to be enjoying themselves with a little saber action. where's Triumph the dog when you need him? lol :D

PCALAN 2002 - DAY 1

alright, for those of you who obviously aren't there to for some of the events today... it has exceeded Greg's, Mike's, Ed's, and certainly my own expectations by far! we had about 30 ppl today alone and are expecting quite a few more tomorrow too (hopefully).

special greetings go out to the Canton Kid and his daughter who made it out to the site LONG before anyone else did. #@

while there was quite a bit of gaming going on, there was also a bit of file leeching too. there was one guy named Gabe whose system was just raped by ppl downloading every other file he had on his hard drive. eek! turn off that file sharing for all that anime, buddy!

i personally only brought my laptop today, not expecting the hu-mungo crowd of ppl. so DAY 2 will have both the laptop and the monstrous newly-built desktop system.

MORE PICS TO COME! - MORE PICS TO COME! - MORE PICS TO COME!

most pictures are 1024x768 and that's down from the 1MB+ 4MP pics i usually take so even modem users can enjoy viewing them. :D please excuse all the blurry ones.... had my speed set too low for my own good.

NOTES:

* please take a look at images 2852, 2855, and 2856. Greg (Nexus7), adds his own special flavoring to one of the hot dogs he's grilling.... YUM! :P YUCK!

* okay, i don't know who LUPAN is... but looks like dude's got a PR0N problem... see image 2840 :O hahaha

Thank you :)

But Dan, you can do better than that. Most I've seen are way too dark and others way too blurry.

And 300k pics are not modem friendly. ;) Especially when waiting and getting a blurry or too dark pic. May I suggest compressing them to around 100k or less and maybe mark the ones that are blurry or dark. Maybe resize them to something like 800x600. I know all that takes time if you do it, but pic out the best. :)

If not then maybe someone can note which ones are clear. :)

*btw, I am using that pic you posted in your NY thread as my current wallpaper. The statue of liberty one. :) That is excellent!

dude... only YOU do weird stuff with vaseline...

actually i figured out what the problem was... my camera was probably set to manual and i had the speed or aperture set way low and didn't know it. probably didn't realize it was set so low and there was too much movement on my part or the subjects'.
oh well... live and learn...
