will microsoft ever make a program that will not require a service patch ?

or not have 3000 security leak problems ?

remember when xp was released they microsoft said it was complete and flawless !
and crashed when they went to show it off !
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help

no piece of software will ever be put out without needed patched or updates it just won't happen someone will find a vulnerablility in it somehow and somewhere its not just microsoft...

i remember a program that ms made that never needed a patch
it was called command.com
you probably still have a copy in your computer
some of u may have the more advanced cmd.exe
if your nostalgic u may recall this as the "dos prompt"
of course we all know that unless u run NT XP or 2K you still run on this "dos prompt"

Service packs are not like security patches. SP's are to bring an OS or app up to compliance with new standards or hardware.

For instance NT 4.0 worked just fine out of the box, but years later you needed SPs to upgrade it to use larger capacity drives and other hardware that didn't exist when it was released.

wasn't it NT that had HUGE security holes.

Preds right tho, no software will ever be perfect. But releasing patches for patches, well...
