I use V6.02 of McAfee, tried upgrading once and got a lot of stability issues. I'm using grisoft (the free version) right now, and it seems to work a lot better and more efficiently than McAfee.. I'm gonna check to see if it uses more resources though. If it doesn't, I'll keep it, may pay for the upgrade.. eGo

what's so special about it?
i've been using NAV Corp for the past 2 years now and it's done me fine. never really notice it being a resource hog, updates are frequent, and it's protected me against viruses and worms just dandy... :)

Nuffin. Actually that's not true...we have Norton. Had AVG. But we never use 'em. And have yet to ever be infected.

McAfee has to be the worst program ever made. Every client I've ever had has gotten rid of it because all it did was make their computers unstable. Norton/symantec all the way

i dont have anything on my main system

but on the family computer, it has mcafee

the only virus I had was a stealthboot virus
Mcafee was the only one that could get rid of it.

Norton wouldnt let me install it cuase it said I had a virus on my system. To install norton i would have to remove the virus first..............how the fark could I remove it without an anti virus software installed :bang

Bahh..

I just had a bad customer experience with NAV a long time ago and refuse to support their products. I did try SystemWorks when I first built my new computer and right after install, BSOD, did a repair install and uninstalled it, reinstalled it, BSOD.. So to hell with Norton/Symantec.. Your opinion may vary from my own.. But it's my opinion.. ;) eGo

AVG is by far the best I have used and I have tried most others. And I do get many virus emails. All the members of the bad list just luv me. :D

Had a virus and norton hadn't a clue what to do with it, meanwhile avg blew it away.

But sadly, I think I think I read where Exec said AVG will soon stop being free? Say it isn't so. Image

If they do, then what. grrr
