Not sure why, but I decided to look through a folder i labeled "text" on my secondary harddrive.

I remember this being a folder where I stored anything that was a text file. So as I went through, i started to re-read some of the things Ive written. I noticed a disturbing trend.....it seems as though all my writing has gone downhill since then.

I can recall just sitting for a hour or 2 and being able to type out a story being 5 pages or more. I would just type for the hell of it or to pass time.

One little story I came up i actually had to search to find if i really posted it

WTF happened to me? A person who had such a thrill in writing and reading suddenly reduced to nothing more than a bunch of meaningless dribble on a bunch of forums? How can someone lose such abilities and creativities after only a year???

I really am disgusted with myself.

Were there any radical changes in your life in the last one year?

I understand exactly what you're talking about. I never wrote for fun, only when I needed to for school and contests, and I still managed to score 100% on the written essay portion of our S4 ELA Provincial Exam. I recently had a look at some of the essays I wrote in high school and shocked myself at how good they were. I notice a huge absence of creativity and structure in my writing these days as compared with my writing from a few years ago, and I'm not sure if I can ever write as well as I used to again. I'm not sure of the cause, either, but I believe it may have something to do with the fact that I have so much more on my mind now and I can't focus as well. Work can be incredibly stressful and exhausting, as can managing an apartment, money, and life in general. Back in high school, I didn't have to concern myself with those things to the degree that I do now. I believe the creativity is still there, it just took a back seat to more important things.

none that I can think of......

but thing comes to mind....Anyone remember the simpsons episode where lisa finds out there is a gene on the male end of the family which makes them stupid? Thats kinda how I feel. As grandpa simpson shows her Barts old school work, with A+s and smily faces slowly changing into a skull and crossbones, I am going through a process of dumbining
:(

Just Hang IN There..
