Another Dilemma

Post by Sexy Pid »

Hey guys!
Me again with some more problems ;)

I recently moved into 'The Big Smoke' this weekend, and along came my 19 inch monitor. I was plugging it into the back of my laptop, waiting to see what this beast can display...I plugged it in, and noticed there was a pin missing out of the male end of the monitor adapter...therefore the monitor will not work.

Can someone offer a solution for this? I have been out of computers for a while, and was wondering what is the easiest way to fix this problem. :D

Thank you all very much in advance!

open the monitor and see if you can buy another cable? (Male to Male connection?)

You SURE there's a pin missing.? It's normal for a monitor connector to have some pissing spaces. If there's just an empty hole where you think a pin should be, then it's probably supposed to be that way.

If you can see that the pin broke off then you're screwed unless your cable can be disconnected at the monitor end and replaced.

If the pin is bent, you can straighten it back out with a small needle nose pliers.

I have some pissing spaces, too. Normally between my third and fourth beer.

Not gonna touch this one.
