Turkey In The Bath Room!

I love having company over lately and showing them to the bathroom :)

She's in the guest bath.

If you've been following the adventures of my Turkey, she had a breathing tube inserted into her side so she could breath. She has a fungal infection in her lungs blocking the trachea. Turkeys (most birds) do not have diaphrams and basically you can punch a hole in their chest and they can breath through it (next time I choke on a piece of rice I'm going to remember that).

Tube should come out in the next few days but she can't be outside while she has it in her or she'll get dirt in it.

Bird's doing much better. She has her appetite back and she's playful again. Most of the time she's in the cage and the cats can come in and visit (she loves company). We let her stretch her wings for a few hours a day though.

Hey, it's a bathroom right? Heck I've been to houses with people who own giant parrots and the damn things are pooping all over the floor. This turkey's cleaner than some of them I've seen.

6 cats, 1 turkey, 20 acres. NO 'fing horses thank you. I prefer my transportation to have wheels and a throttle, and NO attitude.

oh the mental imagery! FP, can you tape some of her playfulness and send it to AFV? I'd love to see some of that.

Had her breathing tube removed today but no word on the lab results yet. She can go back outside in a few more days when the incision heals.
