Well and pump. So damn nice not to have to pay the city for sewer and water.
I have a deeper than usual well because my ranch used to be a commercial tree farm. Water is clear and delicious right out of the ground. We only use a water softner because it helps for laundry and bathing. Otherwise the soap doesn't lather properly.

well and pump - put in a water softener b/c a lot of calcium, etc. in the water - had to replace the pump about 2 years ago - only downside is the calcium build up in the house pipes keeps the water pressure a little low - not going to spend 11 Billion$$ to get the house replumbed

Community well here, the water is so soft you have to be very careful not to add too much detergent when washing clothes, dishes etc. The water has nice greenish brown tint to it and taste pretty bad too .

I live in an apt and water aint bad.. Little rust but lots a calcium.
At work..
(rant) The dam things..(Big water sofeners) They put em right in the maintenance department Right in front of MY workbenches. The Dang things go off every 6 hours for two.. These things can do 100 gallons per minute (6,000 gallons an hour), There are thee 400 gallon tanks take take take turns regenerating and it uses 35 gallon a minute just to regenerate And it's way loud.. We use 3 Tons of salt a week!
(end rant)
Biggest worry right now is.. Did I spell Gallon right? It looks wrong.

You dont want to play with too much buffer....fish like stable pH then the one that fluctuates alot, trust me.
Other then that, would love to see some pics of your setup.
