buy a new lappy top or ready built computer -they load it /blot it with crap like norton ,aol hell and other crap ?

because they have $$contracts with the software folks..... they pay HP, etc to let them load the trial versions.....

it sucks having t5o pull all that crap off as soon as you / i buy a new rig like this gateway laptop i just got today . did first off install AVG -on it also switched my version of nero .now adding xp pro -from home addation !

Some OEM makers are worse than others. Dell's not too bad - one actual Adware app and several useless background apps that are easily removed.
eMachines is one of the worst. I've also seen Toshiba laptops pretty heavily loaded with crap, and all HP systems have a lot of crap on them.
I think if I bought an OEM system I'd probably wipe the drive and do a clean install.

When I got my newest Sony it took me 3 hours to get rid of all the crap. It was faster for me to install linux.

at least now the AOHell is not installed but ready to deploy and easilly removed.

yea... got some people that just got a new * and its not even online yet and its crashing big time. So ill just go blast it and put basic stuff on it.

Yea I found a few places you can. Problem is they aren't cheap because none of the big names sell laptops without OS's. The places that sell them like this don't do enough buisness to keep them cheap. Even if your going to take a few hours to completely wipe the OS its still worth it in the savings.

i'm not saying norton is great or anything, but avg is Not a good anti-viruse app. almost anything can get threw that swiss cheese program.
