Hello all, I am looking for some cycle insurance and wondering if anyone here may have some input as to what type of coverage and if one company is better or more reasonable that others, I have found that medical is not given unless you ask for it and pay extra, I have not been able to get a solid answer from blue cross if my health insurance would pick up medical in a cycle accident so I will probably buy the extra coverage just to be safe.
Thanks in advance to all. Chris

Well, if my bike wasn't so old I'd carry full coverage. As it is, it's a 93' Kawasaki Vulcan and worth about $1200 or so. I only carry Liability on it through Geico and it's about $100 a year. I plan on getting a new bike soon, so I'll be able to jump on the full coverage bandwagon then. But until then, all I know is that Geico was very easy to get a policy through and certainly is not very expensive for me. Best Of Luck!

Nationwide is $164 for 6 months for me. But, after several deaths of people either I know, or one that I know knows, haven't rode since.
Just bee careful. People are driving crazier than ever these days and have little regard for bikes. In many SUV's and 18 wheelers, they just don't see us. Or take the time to be sure. Always in a hurry or on a cell phone.

Insurance Quote
After doing some calling around and asking alot of questions I am going to go with http://www.motorcycleservices.com for my insurance as they really had the best policy for my money, my insurance company (State Farm) didn't even come close.
Here are the two quotes from motorcycleservices one is the low end policy and the other is the higher end policy, there are several different options in between. I chose the higher end policy.
If anyone has had dealings with this company good or bad please let me know.
P.S. motorcycleservices is an insurance broker by the way.

Thanks everyone for the replys, I have had a few close calls with my motorcycle riding in the past that is why I decided to go with a scooter this time around, there are no gaurantees but they are much easier to manuver in my opinion and I figure I can jump off into the ditch if I had to.
